So it’s almost midnight on a Sunday night. Monday tomorrow and I start work at 8am, followed by a dentist appointment. I’m In the UK, so I can hear the rain right now smashing against my windows, but it’s still open as I head over to light up my cigarette whilst this song plays in the background. I see a plane fly past, very low as the airport is not too far from here. I’m 26 now, and I first got in to Biggie and Pac when I was around 12. The lyrics are genius, the flow is immaculate, and it puts me in a daze, and I feel incredibly high and low at the same time. Things are different now, it’s all work and bills, debts and stress, rent and upkeep of your car, no one plays on the streets anymore, the kids now are stuck inside on the PlayStation or tablets, my niece and nephew are more interested in screens than the playground, my parents are getting older now, and I can see them getting weaker. There’s no real point as to why I’m writing this, I just thought I’d set the scene im in now. Currently getting to the end of this song, I have a couple puffs left of my cigarette, my hands also hurting as I’ve been typing with one hand, but the rain has stopped now, and it’s getting closer to midnight. I’m gonna play Biggie - Sky’s the limit after this one, then call it a night. I hope life treats you all well, I hope things go your way, I hope you have enough money to feed your family everyday and always, I hope love finds you, I hope you secure a great job, I hope you rip the gym and get them gains in, I hope you raise wonderful children, I hope all is well with you all. And if it isn’t, it will be, because it’s gone well for me after going through hell for two years. I’ve closed my window now, pretty cold out there.
