Birds of prey are symbols of power, speed and splendour. In fact, there are very few species in the animal kingdom that can be described in as many superlatives. Their amazing use of different senses, their incredible feats of flight as well as their multitude of different hunting strategies are simply astounding. Hawks, buzzards and eagles have conquered every habitat on earth – from the dry arid south, to the cool and moist river valleys, to the coasts of Norway, all the way up to the sparse high mountains. Some of them, like the incredibly versatile hawk, can even hunt in the forest. Their literal eagle eye vision is unrivaled in the animal kingdom.  All birds of prey sustain themselves through hunting, and they do so elegantly and, it seems, with effortless beauty and efficiency. This is one of many reasons why they are much admired, even romanticised, by many cultures. Buckle up and join us on this aerial adventure with spectacular insights into this amazing world of birds of prey.

  • The closing summary speaks eloquently in favor of protecting these birds of prey and allowing them to continue the lives they've lived since long before humans came along and started to spoil or destroy everything in sight. Excellent informative documentary free of sensationalism and showing respect for viewers' intelligence.
  • Message in the end is as intriguing as the video itself " learn to co-exist not co-exit and extinction"

Humans are the worst thing to ever happen to this planet. I hope I get to be an eagle in my next life.

I love birds of prey. One of my favorites the coopers hawk. Cunning, ambitious it is the small hawk that can. I have a bunch of stories about these mainly from hunting and being in the woods. One time I was in a tree stand looking over shelled corn in mature pines. On the ground level there was saplings and tangles on honeysuckle vines. Small birds and squirrels where feeding when a coopers hawk went under me from behind and blew over them so fast that never saw it and none of them sounded the alert. The coopers hawk evidently missed and continued on darting through the woods and disappeared quickly. As for evolution creating the goshawks eye, if there was randomness in the universe, you can't be sure that your faculties are working correctly. For vision, nothing beats the wild turkey. The turkey can see 270 degrees, in nine magnification, in color and even ultra violet. There is no better eye sight in the animal kingdom.
