How Great Thou Art

One of (I suspect) the most famous hymns out there - which I did not realize is really not that old (copyright 1949 by Stuart K. Hine with two additional verses added later in 1953). I love the progression of the words in telling the story of God in how "the heaven's declare the glory of God" and how "God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us".

I'm from Africa (Angola), I do love this song, when I sing this It seems like I'm much closer to God, or simply saying, as I am already in the Heaven... God is my greater treasure.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This majestic hymn is sung so beautifully and simply that I could meditate on the power of the words. Too many artists have over produced and modernized this hymn that it detracts from the message and places the focus on the performer rather than on the Great God.
