I visited the Emirates Aviation Training College in Dubai where Emirates train their cabin crew. The new Emirates cabin crew (ab initio) went through an intensive 8 weeks of training and exams to be qualified to fly.

I was given a behind-the-scenes tour of Emirates new cabin crew training including safety and emergency procedure (SEP) such as sliding, aircraft ditching, smoke and fire in the cabin. Then I observed First Aid Training (GMT) including CPR and newborn baby delivery. After that, I visited the image and uniform to see how the new flight attendants get groomed to Emirates standard. Last, I went inside the mock-up aircraft trainer to observe the new cabin crew service delivery.

Emirates Aviation Training College is the world's largest Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 training facility— including flight simulators, pool for ditching exercises, emergency slides and real firefighting simulators. Mock cabin interiors, specialised training rooms and virtual, game-based training scenarios complete the immersive and realistic training environment.

On average, 120 new cabin crew graduate from the Emirates Aviation Training College each week.

They are not just serving food and beverage to passengers, they are saving people's lives. Much respect and love.

As a Cabin Crew at Emirates and I can confirm, the training is very intensive and stressful, however I’ve made amazing memories from this college, from the very professional and thorough trainers to how the company treated us as employees. I always felt like it wasn’t just a company, more like a community. Amazing experience and I would do anything to experience it again.
  • I always respected cabin crew because I have seen passengers treating them rudely. After seeing this my respect got deeper for them. They put so much efforts and patience for their training and during their job. It’s not all about glamour the world see, these people risks their lives to save passengers. They deserve much more appreciation and recognition from world.

People will see this as a “fun” way of training but boy let me tell you how stressful those training period are especially for the Initial Crew (those who have no prior experience as cabin crew) 😭 Easily the hardest 3 months of my life, even harder than my under grades lmao. I still can’t believe I’m able to crammed 1400 pages worth of knowledges (in english, not my tongue mind you!) in those times and managed to succeed lol Good luck for anyone who wants to be a cabin crew! See you on board someday soon!

I traveled from Dubai to New York last March 6th on the A380. One passenger got sick and needed medical assistance. The flight attendants were quick and efficient they did a CPR and then I heard they made the call for a doctor exactly how this video shows. The training pays off well. Good job Emirates my favorite airline.

This brings back memories. I was a flight attendant for Pan Am from 1977-1991 when they closed. I went to Northwest which became Delta 1991-2006 . When I started the world was different, security wasn't as strict, people still dressed appropriately. Emirates and other international carriers still have what I would remember to be old fashioned ways and that is a great way to be! That's one big reason you rarely hear of an international carrier going out of business. What a beautiful college, Emirates!

It’s interesting to see behind the scenes of this facility, as I’ve drove past the facility in Dubai. In my opinion, flight attendants are underrated and training is rigorous.

18:30, just imagine that: all the way from central asian countries (Uzbekistan, Kyrgizstan) to north and south america (Mexico, Brasil) in the middle east (and that's aside from many other nationalities that work in Emirate). different cultures, backgrounds and languages melted in the aviation industry pot.. by the way when Sam asks about their countries of origin that shows respect and interest. people love it actually. Thank you Sam.
  • @anns666
i love how all these nationalities work together
  • As someone who wants to be a flight attendant and whose final goal is working in emirates, seeing 2 flight attendants from Brazil just made it so much more personal. Great video, thank you.

Impressive! When I did CPR training a few years ago, the instructor told me that the heart massage part is more important than breathing in because the victim still has oxygen inside their blood. But without heart massage, the oxygen will not be transported throughout the body.

Just flew back last week from Dubai to Toronto via Emirates. Crew was amazing, service delivery was excellent. Glad to watch how hard they put their efforts to train themselves and how much emirates is focused on customer centric services.

Very interesting insight into the extensive training that Emirates cabin crew need to undertake. Incredible how many skillsets the cabin crew need to master. Most passengers take all this for granted when travelling on Emirates. Although considered by many to be glamorous it is actually a very tough job. All credit to the Emirates cabin crew and to Sam Chui for making this great VDO. 👍👍✈🛩
