Filmmaker Roger Maunder and Shanneyganock's Chris Andrews unearthed footage from 2007, of a party in Marg Maynard’s home in Flatrock. They found what Andrews called a "magical night." The original footage was shot by Gerry Boland. As Chris Andrews says, this time-honoured tradition has been suspended by the COVID-19 pandemic, which brings an extra poignancy to the unearthed footage.

    i am moving to newfoundland this summer i am born in montreal but my grandmother was from half way point in cornerbrook cant wait to move

    That was heartwarming to watch. I sure do miss our kitchen parties. I'm on the West Coast of British Columbia and me Da is on the West Coast of Newfoundland. Longing for when we can visit and gather for a good scoff n scuff. Fingers crossed for 2021! Happy New Year all!
