1:11 I’ve gotten a lot of comments thinking this is wrong, so let me clarify. Other weapon types allow you to hold down strong attacks and sometimes this results in two hits. For example, the halberd functions like this wherein holding strong attack fully does a little hit then a big hit. The difference with thrusting swords and why I said they have a combo is that it’s two separate inputs, not just holding down strong attack. So R2 + R2, not just holding R2. I know that’s a little confusing, but hopefully that clears it up.

Another tip: killing the boss in dungeons allows you to fast travel again, so if you don't remember completing a dungeon, you can enter it and see the map.
  • @RedFridge_
Please note: attacking near ledges and not falling off does not apply to elevators 🙃
  • Fun fact about double drinking - if you're able to access both flasks at once, such as having them assigned to your pouch, you can alternate between crimson and cerulean when doing a double drink, which can be helpful if, for example, you get hit by an attack that both does damage and also drains FP, or if you're just low on both.

If you click in R3 to hide the right side of the menu while you’re using all your golden runes, using each stack won’t automatically exit the inventory so you don’t have to scroll down to them again, you just gotta wait for the animation and you can immediately use the next one. Not life saving but definitely more convenient.

The Nightrider Flail has a charged R2 attack on horse back that has three quick hits with the spinning balls when charged. It's awesome for killing mobs and stacking bleeds on big foes

A quick note about the falling leaves buff: someone else pointed out that it seemed to be happening a lot more for them since adding a group password, and I'd noticed the same thing. From what I can tell, every time you get a 'player in your group has defeated the shardbearer' message, the buff is triggered. Might need more testing but it seems to fit.

Another tip: Flask icon changes depending on you will heal for "more" than your max HP, if you have lost more HP than 1 flask use then it will have a small glow -For all your minmax Flask users
  • Crouching to regen stamina was confirmed a bug and patched in the collusium 1.09 patch a few days ago.

The map tip at the end is extremely important, people are wandering aimlessly around looking for upgrade stones and their minds are blown when I tell them that. It doesn't end there either, the way the map is drawn is very deliberate and conveys way more information than it first appears. You can find stuff like churches (that usually contain sacred tears for your flask), graveyards (contain a lot of rune items), and more, by just finding the right patterns and shapes that are consistent. Also when you first enter a region the map location is always marked with an obelisk, just place a blue marker there and off you go, should be the first thing you go for.

That attacking off ledges thing actually could be useful when facing a drop you're not sure will kill you. If it's lethal then attacking won't let you fall, but if it's safe you'll go right off

Regarding jumping onto breakable objects, I noticed that the thorned armor that adds damage to your rolls for some reason removes the "damage" of your jump, so while wearing them your jump no longer breaks objects and you can climb on them easily. It seems like a bug, but it's interesting.

Two things:when you pick up a new item the tooltip shows the icon for the item category it belongs to. This helps finding it in your inventory when you have no idea what you just looted. Second, you can actually sort your inventory by type, new, or number held. The game only tells you when you press help instead of showing the bind on the bottom so I think many people will miss this. It's T on keyboard and L3 on controller iirc.
  • @Scizson
Double drinking also works when swapping between HP and FP flasks. It's slightly slower because your character has to pull out the other bottle, but it's still noticeably faster than two single chugs.
  • @LordShrub
Here's a tip: If you can't use your weapon skill because of the shield skill overwriting it, you can buy the Ash of War: No Skill from the Warmaster's shack and apply it on the shield.
  • @pianoboyedm4829
The Mimic Tear ashes will actually have the same quick items as you do! If you have a warming stone in one of the quick slots, your summon will use them periodically, and it doesn't use the actual item at all! This also works with firebombs and throwing knives!

As a new FromSoft player in Elden Ring, your line is something I'm trying to keep in mind "In FromSoft games, a win is a win so use every tool you have"

20 hrs into the game and I’ve just defeated Godrick. Never have I played a more rich and dense open world game. A masterpiece in every sense of the word. From never disappoints

Another useful tip most people don't know about is that when you get an important item, the inventory section it fits under is displayed as an icon in the top left of the popup. Saved me so much time scrolling through my inventory trying to figure out what the hell I just picked up.

2:48 I actually recommend against putting your lantern on one of your 4 precious pouch slots - those should be reserved for things you need immediate access to during combat. There's never really any time that you're suddenly thrust into darkness, so it's fine to take the time to go into your inventory to use it, but if you'd really want quicker access to it, put it in one of the 2 extra pouch slots. You have the open the menu and scroll over to it, but that's still convenient.
