I really hate when people say how "bad" newer Pixar movies are, they fail to neglect Soul, imo a great film and honestly one of their bests since Coco
  • @Frames12521
"After one good movie they are already better than Pixar" THANK YOU FOR BRINGING UP THIS AWFUL CRITICISM
  • @BadDoodles
Tbh the whole Pixar drama is a bit annoying
  • @IcyDiamond
I’m hoping Elio can be a success, the joke at the end of the trailer was really funny and I’m hoping it can be a new and inventive movie for Pixar, also I think a lot of the hate Pixar is getting is because they’re owned by Disney who aren’t seen in the best light anymore
  • @FloorMasterKusho
When Pixar adopts the Spiderverse animation style or just something different with a story as good as something like Coco or Walle they’re are dominating every animated movie that year.

i know this is probably a really lukewarm take but i think the "dreamworks vs illumination vs pixar" trend is really dumb. it's like you said, just because illumination made one good movie and pixar made one bad movie doesn't make illumination "better" than pixar. it feels like just more of an excuse for people to hate on movies they don't like, but completely ignoring everything else a studio is capable of i'd be willing to bet that if pixar released a movie right now that was a THIRD as good as across the spiderverse, people would change sides almost instantaneously

Luca is honestly my favorite Pixar film. I like that it has kind of a lack of plot, it feels like you're a kid, just like the main characters. I love the studio ghibli-inspired pacing and perspective on the world. Wanting a Vespa and then being like "eh whatever imma go to school now!" just makes sense from the characters' perspective. I found Alberto's jealousy made sense, especially with his abandonment issues. I mean- he's been isolated for so long and who knows how long he hasn't had any family or friends around him, and then the one friend that he makes might get taken away.

I think there are 2 flawed reasons why people hate on Pixar these days 1 They treat them like they are responsible for the evil decisions that the Disney corporation makes and forget that Pixar is just an innocent animation studio that is owned by the Disney corporation 2 They forget that they still have hits to this day Like Soul Luca and Elemental, and their misses like Lightyear and Onward aren’t bad, just kinda average

Lemme get ONE gripe off my chest….. THEY MADE 4 TOY STORIES, 3 CARS MOVIES, BUT THEY CANT MAKE A THIRD INCREDIBLES????

People in general have very short term memories. They overemphasis or over value what happened recently instead of looking at the greater history. One huge bad thing that just happened will, in their minds, overshadow all the good stuff even if that good stuff happened for a longer period of time. The opposite is true too. In the former's case, Elemental's dismal opening made people jump to the conclusions that Pixar had fallen off even though the larger body of Pixar's recent work was good. An example of the opposite also being true is how how Dreamworks released 2 good movies in 2022 (Bad Guys and Puss in Boots) and everyone jumped to the conclusion of Dreamworks having a comeback. But a single good or bad movie isn't a trend. People need to stop acting like it is and coming to these outlandish conclusions.

Oh man. This was a good video May. I agree. Pixar is a very good studio. But I find that lately I find that they have good recent movies like Luca and Turning Red, but I think that Pixar is struggling to make something super unique I guess. I haven’t seen Elemental. I guess it’s because there are so many other movies I have been seeing instead. Hopefully I’ll see it soon. And I am happy Elemental is doing good now
  • @bored-bee01
I believe that pixar is like dreamworks. If they miss, they miss. But when they hit, THEY HIT, and imo i think that goes for almost every movie studio

I liked the movie more than I expected. I think Ember's relationship with her dad was the best part of the movie and they did such a good job building it up in the beginning. I think it would've been a more focused plot if it was just about her discovering what she really wanted to do. Despite what her dad might think of her. It also gets elevated by the fact her dad's dad basically disowned him for leaving and now he'd be put in the reversed role with Ember. I liked the romance as well, but I feel like it was setup pretty haphazardly. The first mention of them possibly dating was when Wade's boss assumes they're a couple and they have the awkward "We're not a - It could never work." Which is also weird cause why would she assume they're a couple if inter-elemental relationships, especially between water and fire, are rare. Before this point, they seemed like they were barely friends, but now they have a romantic tension between them? Once they do start dating they make a good couple, but I just didn't like how they got there. Also, I think Buzz Lightyear is more than just a generic Astronaut when he's not a toy or has Woody as a friend. The "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command" cartoon worked really well with a world built around the character. He was like a meatheaded Super Man (I haven't watched the cartoon in a LONG time, so I might be remembering wrong). I remember him being very justice oriented, but also having a bit of an ego. Also, the cartoon had interesting designs for the different alien species and technology. It felt like a Disney version of The Star Wars Universe, which is weird because now they ACTUALLY own Star Wars and they couldn't make a more interesting Sci-Fi world for Lightyear?

This video went through so much trouble for no reason, but I’m glad to see you try your best to upload it.
  • I just finished the video and I fully agree. I don't understand the Pixar hate. It made classics like Incredibles, Up, and Ratatouille. It had some flops, but every animation studio has. I love DreamWorks and their catalogue is half masterpieces and half "whatever this is" movies. Pixar needs to grow and learn. It needs to break its own mold. But I still wait with hope for their next movie announcement, because when they try, they make incredible emotionally-driven movies.

June was just a big mistake the movie industry made thinking we were gonna see every movie in one month after we all saw Spiderverse 2 if they were spread out more everything would have been better I'm glad Elemental bounced back tho can't say the same for Rubygillman..
  • @damonlam9145
Crazy thing is I kinda want Elemental to get a sequel or more content because there is a lot of potential and interesting ideas for the story to continue forward. Which does give for the future of Pixar.
  • I definitely think that Pixar needs to make a lot of changes to their future movies, like changing their animation style to look more Spider-Verse-esque, changing up their storytelling, hiring a new team of writers and directors, and most importantly, making more original movies and not just sequels again. Also, I do have a Spider-Verse profile picture, but that does not mean I hate Pixar. In fact, I have always been a Pixar fan since I was young, so seeing one of my favorite animation studios being in a struggling state makes me feel worried.

For me I liked Luca BECAUSE it didn’t have a main big goal it’s so mundane to watch, there’s too many movies that have big plots but with Luca it feels very nice to watch
  • @queendsheena1
Hey! I am so glad Elemental turned things around at the box office.
