Good video! You're right about the seed size being inconsistent. My Dad and I would shell some of the corn off each end of the ear. The grains in the middle of the ear seemed to be more consistent in size. This may help you. We didn't have any problems with our planter. We used a two row Farmall Super C. We planted heirloom corn also, been in our family for years. Would like a sample? I subscribed to your channel.

Thanks for sharing Mr. Sorter.  That is a late version of Bloody Butcher and it is impressive you could mature it in Michigan.  Your seed size issue is a critical one and your solution very good.  What do you use to size your seeds?  You could also use a plateless corn planter, like a JD 1240 or 7000 with the finger planting units.  Another option from way back is to shell off the butts and tips of the ears first to help remove some of the most variable seed sizes and shapes.  I look forward to your future updates!
