I ended with the Bonnie Packer Better Mag adapter and S&W 15-22 mags. Took me a while to get it figured out.

Good Points/Tips and a well-spoken Presentation. This'll help me better dial in the M&P Sport .22LR that I just purchased and will receive next week. BTW, I picked it up since my HK 416 .22LR (WHICH I LOVE) does NOT have a true functioning Bolt Catch making it less useful (real) when I LESS EXPENSIVELY train with it versus my AR15 in 5.56. MANY THANKS!!!

Excellent video. I just purchased the catch 22 gen2 and the mag well shim and two 15-22 mags. I did not realize you had to modify the mags to work, so your description will be very helpful. I am going to try to mod the catch 22 first as opposed to modding the mag itself. Plan B is to mod the mag though if needed.

Get a bounie packer insert that with the S&w mag functions the bolt catch perfectly.

Great Videos. I just purchased a BearCreek 22LR upper to pair with a Palmetto State Lower. Seems to function fine although I didn't know enough to expect the bolt hold open issue. Seems like relying on the round follower to hold the bolt open is sooner or later going to be a fail point. I'm curious as to whether or not you have used or considered the Boonie Packer setup? Thanks again for these videos

AR Catch22 makes a clip that slides on the front of the mag well for the S&W mags. It's $7.50 works great. They also have shims for the front of the mags for $3.25. Plus catches and more

Hi Robb, I am using the Catch22 V2 bolt catch, magwell shim, and the M&P15-22 magazine. I did dremel out the slot to make the follower travel higher, and managed to have last round bolt hold open like 70% of the time. My question is, as soon as I drop the mag the bolt closes immediately. Do you know how I could remedy this?

Look at the better mag adapter for the 15/22 mags

Catch 22 sells a stick-on piece that replicates your tape. My m&p 10 rounder with blue follower doesn't have this problem with the bolt hold open. You could easily convert them to 25rds

I am so freaking jealous of your 22lr pencil barrel... I got stuck with a stupidly heavy bear creek. I saved $$ but it must be 8.5lbs
