Nearly a year after most students were pushed into virtual learning, the debate continues about how and when to safely get kids back into class. One school has an unusual way of working with students who aren’t showing up for their virtual classes. Teachers are going to door to door making house calls to check in on some of their students who’ve been absent. Children struggle with different hurdles to online learning. Slow internet speeds and inconsistent housing situations are big factors. #InsideEdition

The last nice thing my teacher did for me was giving me a detention
  • Sure they would act surprised that their teacher is here, no more playing games in class now

You never know what a child is going through at home and why they’re missing school. They’re mindful for checking up on them and making sure everything is okay. We need more people like them in education.
  • This is why teachers should be making WAY MORE then they’re getting right now.

meanwhile my teachers mark me absent in lessons I was in

I missed so much school growing up due to many problems going on at home. My middle school decided it was best to take me to court and put me in juvenile detention for 2 weeks. No one EVER asked me what was going on. Instead I was embarrassed and scolded by my educators. The kindness and compassion from these women is beautiful. Children cannot control their home lives! I wish everyone was as understanding

That 3rd grade boy really had the face like “I know they didn’t come into my house and tell me when I should be sleeping” 😭🤣

I feel bad for the mom who had to pick who would be able to go virtual learning because of the slow wifi

a teacher knocked on my home door once after having a few days off school. scared me so much but thankfully i was the only one who heard him knocking and i did not answer
  • i feel like some teachers just aren’t mindful of our home life and just assume everyone has a quiet place to work with high speed internet
  • Is no one gonna talk about how that little boy looked when he opened that door 0:06 he regret opening that door😂

Poor kids they look terrified even with good intentions most kids dont want their nightmare fuel knocking their doors
  • Honestly we need more teachers like this they aren’t controlling but more so caring and worried! They don’t judge you they just wanna figure out how to make it work and that is so much more to people than you think..
  • Bruh litterally telling everyone what school she goes to💀💀💀

It's so sad people talking about how they hate their teachers, I guess I was lucky enough to have teachers who cared about me and my well being.

That seems like a nightmare to see a teacher come to your house

They’re such nice teachers for caring about their students and their well-beings.

I would feel annoyed instead of “loved”😐
  • This makes a enormous impact on these children! Feeling loved and missed. Makes school feel like a warm loving place.
