It sounds like the person released the video because they knew a coverup was happening and they wanted the truth to come out and were trying to help.
  • This whole thing is such a disgusting cover up for cowardice and incompetence.

The person who leaked the video is not the one to blame. As heart breaking as this is, the blame belongs to whoever believed that they could sweep this footage under the rug, hiding it from the families and the world. The proper line of action should have been immediately letting the parents see all relevant footage, followed by the release of all footage from security cameras and body cams alike to the world. The government of Uvalde made an active decision to hide their wrongdoing and cower in the same way that the cops in the footage did. Meanwhile a brave leaker let this footage fall in the world’s hands so as to be judged by the court of public opinion. While I respect the wish for the proper course to have been taken, it’s important to look at this situation as it stands

"To the person that leaked it....... The PUBLIC THANKS you." Their actions need to be exposed.

These parents have been so wronged on so many levels.
  • They didn’t care enough to risk their lives for your children, they are not looking out for your interests, they’re trying to save their asses. I couldn’t fathom how painful this is for you, but the world needed to see why we need change. It’s outright despicable what that city has done. Top to bottom

Abuse of power and disgusting cowardly behavior. This was a cover up and the way they been doing it make me sick. How can anyone trust law enforcement now!
  • If I was one of these parent's I would 100% want that video leaked! They should thank whoever did this.
  • @Metal4ever420
The blood is on every law enforcement employees that did NOTHING to stop this horrific act, keep on fighting parents and families
  • @mariekitty
This is very sad. My heart goes out to the parents, siblings, and family who lost their children.

I disagree. Although the parents should have seen it first, the cops were never going to let anyone see the videos, and if anything, they were going to edit them to make it look better for the cops. This was a leak, meaning it was not supposed to be seen (at least not yet), and since it was a leak, it's not like it would be possible to send it to the parents specifically.

Keep in mind that they took a month and a half to finally decide to release the video, someone took it upon themselves to release it for the world to see. Who’s fault is this? The ones trying to cover everything up. Blame the DA , blame the governor and the one in charge for this, it’s like opening a wound and adding salt.
  • @gfamily7826
So sorry for all your loss. You should never have to go through that.
  • Do these parents actually believe they would have ever even seen this footage if it wasn't leaked?

The police already said a month ago they didn't have any obligation to be open or transparent in anything that happened that day
  • @gobigorange
All officers involved should be unemployed PERIOD
  • Honestly, I'm happy this was released, but the parents should have seen it first. Parents, we see the video and we're outraged FOR YOU!
  • In my thoughts and prayers..it is disgraceful how this was handled!!!
  • @benworth34
Um... they leaked a video exposing the criminal negligence of your law enforcement. I don’t know that your anger is directed at the right people. Praying for you though.
