good video still a shame how they made such questionable changes and didn’t revert them like the potions and perk changes and the one time they do act on feedback is the prestige’s which were arguably unpleasant looking

I quit Hypixel during like late 2018 to focus on school and I recently came back a week ago but 80-95% of the peeps now are on Skyblock so I was confused to why that was. I'm kinda sad that Skywars and pretty much all the other gamemodes died on Hypixel but I guess it's understandable. Thanks for the explanation in the video!

I feel like after the end of 2021, Skywars started having to have the biggest downfall even tho people were quitting before, but with the Staff Update and the toxicity of the community is getting nowadays is just sad now. Growing up with the people you played with for years does give a lot of good memories and it's crazy how time flies. But my love for Skywars will always be the same and never in my life am I regretting the amazing time I had with the people I met.

in my opinion there wasn't much of a skywars community left after ranked was removed, but i think the main reason why skywars died is because we've all just grown up & grown out of the game. throw in the appalling decisions by hypixel management over the years (i have stories/experiences you wouldn't believe) and it's no surprise the game has ended up the way it has. SBMM killed solo - it's just 12 player ranked now, but without any banners/rewards (what made ranked worth it). people stuck to solo because it wasn't ranked, and have subsequently quit because that's more or less what it has become. and all of that is ignoring the fact that cheating is effectively allowed on the network as there is no way of getting anyone banned even if you have 100% conclusive evidence. it took me over 2 weeks to get nathankami banned for my masters banner, and that was with all my staff connections (far far more than the average player). at this point i think the game is over, it was fun while it lasted, but unless we get another pandemic that's skywars done for good.

Good video :) I quit for a number of reasons, minecraft just got boring for me, got a job, I play other games now and I don't feel the need to grind to have my name on a virtual leaderboard anymore.

I think that if again after 60 you got moving stars and after 100 you got bold stars and the prestiges stayed the same as the new ones it is really good, I am not that high on stars but yea

tbh I didn't totally mind SBMM when it first got released, I wasn't totally on bored with it, but I would say out of all the higher star players I was one of the more positive ones on it, but as the game has progressed and the player count has dwindled, they can't have SBMM anymore, not because the players are too annoying to fight, but the fact that the game is so dead you can't seperate the player base into two different queues

lowkey the og star update might've been at fault for how sweaty sw has gotten. Since bedwars xp is playtime based, the person who wins the game and person who comes in 2nd place receive the same reward leveling wise, but since the only really effective way to level up is to win, you could get 10 kills and lose and the winner would get more xp than you. Everyone wanting to win the game + pandemic giving us more time to sweat our balls off in solo skywars + updates that should've made the game more new player friendly instead making it worse for both new players and old players = game in its current state

i quit sw a while ago, i had to learn that the game was just trash at that point, nothing made me happy playing it i think hypixel just let the game die on purpose honestly

yeah all the things you say are true, but i also think the game is simply a bit outdated, anyone who playes 1.9 pvp doesnt really play 1.8, from my perspective, I played a few smps with my freinds, and then after that i got good at 1.9, and then couldnt go back, i switcheed to mcci sky battle, then later hoplite, i still love skywars though, but because im 11star i get the stupid skill based matchmaking and i cant play anymore lmao

brother you know what killed all the game modes? skyblock before skyblock every gamemode had thousand of players

I've played for a long time but I've only started to grind seriously recently, I have to say I don't agree on skill based matchmaking I think if you want to attract players you have to attract new players and if when people play for the first time they get destroy by sweats they'll stop playing

tbh i dont even think that the game itself is that flawed apart from SBMM, whch should 100% be removed. Really the main problem with sw is that hypixel doesnt have a good anticheat, if sw was hosted on another server, it would still be alive and kicking
