Do You Need A Fancy Rifle For Training?

Lucas shoots a $720 PSA/Holosun blem rifle build against Brandon who uses a $9k+ KAC rifle build in a series of drills. Can you have a "budget" training rifle to build the skills necessary to be a proficient shooter?

“I do not fear the man who has shot 400 rounds from his $8000 KAC, I fear the man who has shot 8000 rounds from his $400 PSA.” -Confucius

These videos are what we want. Keep them coming!

I’m most interested in the little tape dispenser to cover the holes. So much faster than a roll of painters tape.

TRAINING RIFLES help you get good and therefore looks way cooler.

Biggest takeaway: doesn't matter whether you have a several hundred dollar platform or a multi-thousand dollar platform. Train hard with whatever platform you plan to ACTUALLY use/carry. Same goes for kit...

The rifle is a tool, the soldier is the weapon

As a Dutch guy who recently joined a gun club I'm able to purchase a firearm legally in about 7 months these videos are really helping me. Since I really have to do my research on which firearm I want to purchase for target practice these videos are a godsend.
  • I’d much rather see a break down of why someone would pay that much for an AR VS a budget one and showing what happens at high round counts with both. It’s obvious you can still train with it but you all have the money/ammo to truly test these weapons. That’s what I’d like to see personally.

People in the comments will say “it’s gonna last way longer than 10k rounds without replacing any parts” have probably never put 10k rounds through a AR. Bolt rings and extractors are supposed to be replaced before then and a inexpensive barrel is likely seeing accuracy degradations around then. personally in my defensive guns I replace stuff when it should be replaced. Which is not very expensive. A brand new microbest milspec bcg is $89. Or you can spend $15 on rings/extractors/cam pin.

I haven't seen a video where Lucas looks like he's actually having fun like this in quite a while. You love to see it

Low fade, high tech Marine. That might be the greatest thing I've ever heard. Using it.
  • A couple years ago I bought a PSA with their 14.5" CHF barrel, upgraded BCG, and EPT trigger on sale for about $850. I won't say it is jUsT aS gOOd as a much higher end rifle, but it has been very reliable and accurate over a few thousand rounds. If you've never given PSA a shot, you might be really surprised what a good value some of their stuff is.

I think you make some very valid points. By the least expensive rifle you can and train like hell. I will go the PSA route as well. Thank you.

I’d be more interested to see a round for round comparison on parts wear, stoppages, any issues, tolerances becoming out on anything rather than just shooting drills. I feel like that could provide a ton of value when comparing these 2 setups. Cheers!

Wants vs needs, it’s a blurry line when it comes to arms. 😎

I support all videos that showcase equipment most of us can afford.
