This technique would also make nice thick coasters!

You have no idea, how much this helped me understand how to crochet the baskets. i have been looking and this popped up on my feed today. Thank you for showing how it is done!

Amazing idea of reusing old pairs of jeans. I’m more interested in this because it looks sturdy and I want to make one for my cat.

Great tutorial, and a fantastic way to upcycle. I don't wear jeans, but I do have some leftover fabrics that I think will work. Adding this to my "crafts I might actually try someday" playlist for future reference 🙂

This is one of the BEST tutorials I've ever seen, your instructions are clear, concise and the speed you crochet allows us to really see what and how you make this basket. Thank you ! 👏👏👏💜 p.s. wonderful MUSIC!

I used to love working with denim; I made a bag out of old jeans when I was 15; I got so many compliments on it! Thank you for another idea to recycle and make a beautiful piece of art at the same time!

Love this, I make baskets out of pine needles, another way to recycle. These are beautiful. Thanks for another medium to use for baskets!

This has probably been a thing for a very long time, but a couple of decades ago i thought of using this method on my own after trying to figure out how some rag rugs were made, which i now know are weaved on a loom. Makes lovely rugs.

Thanks for this tutorial. I also appreciate all the examples of different variations at the end. Using different colors of yarn (or a color-changing yarn) produces a very attractive result.

This is adorable! I am thinking of making a lid for the basket in the same manner. That would be so cute. 😊

Awesome video. Very well thought out and demonstrated. Thank you for sharing your handiwork. I have been wanting to make fabric coiled baskets out of recycled fabric, especially jeans. Lovely sweet helper, Ophelia! 💕

Really nice effect. Far better finish than machine sewing rope! Thank you. Xx

I have been storing jeans fabric left overs for years and this is definitely something i am going to try. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for this detailed view of making a denim basket. I love how they look with the varying shades of crochet cotton.

This is so clever. And beautiful. Excellent tutorial. Thank you.

It makes me happy to see you creating things and posting again, Varina! Beautiful baskets. My wife will love watching this, too!

For the number of repeats, what works well for me is : row 1 ->6 repeats. Row 2->2repeats in each bridge (double). Row 3->1 double, then 1 repeat in one(single). Row 4->1 double, 2 singles. Row 5->1 double, 3 singles. Row 6->1 double, 4 singles. And you just go on adding one single for each row. (Not sure if it makes sense how I've written, but yeah XD)

Beautifully shown, and I loved your music choice. Thanks for a new use for old jeans.

One of the first quilts I made was blocks joined together with crochet. Looked so good. This reminds of it.
