In this episode of Assessing Survival, we ask if Raptors(Dromaeosaurs)- could survive the Ice Age (Pleistocene), where they will encounter animals such as Mammoths, Dire wolves, Saber tooth cats, etc. Join me as we weigh their strengths and weaknesses, as well as speculate on their future.

Idea for video: "could mosasaurs survive on planet 4546B?".
  • Dude really came out with pet trade statistics fo the lemming hawk XD

I respect that you passed over Utahraptor because it would be too easy for the big bird lol.

Mamoth: "watch your back guys, the chickens are on our trail "

This has, by far, my favourite evolution variants. The Lemmeni Raptor is just so adorable and absolutely something I'd get as a pet. The Arctos Raptor as well hits that cryptid itch that we all secretly have and fits oddly well will the environment.

Most animals are small. I appreciate when you make them small.
  • Hope South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and Antarctica during the entire Pleistocene receive representation later on.
  • I think a fun one would be "Could the Ikran or the Turok from Pandora survive the Dragon Archipelago from HTTYD". Specifically before the Vikings came. Given the Vikings temperament before Hiccup came along, I imagine the Vikings would Slaughter both populations before they could carve out a niche. It would be fun to see how both species adapt to having both competition and predators that straight up breath fire.
  • In summary: - A "Ghost" of the snow. - An extinct Karateka. - Another invasive species to the club.

Raptor A: “Wow is that a funky triceratops” Raptor B: “He looks extra meaty, just saying” Mammoth: “What the heck is triceratops, mammoth wants to know” Raptor A: “Our dinner”
  • Honestly I think the nivoraptor is the most likely evo -- going bigger in the face of insanely intense competition from numerous pack hunters and megafauna doesn't seem like a winner, but going smaller, on the other hand, seems more likely. It's one thing to say "this is what it needs to do to survive" with your bigger examples, but your smaller example, by becoming an epic endurance overmatch for its prey items AND accounting for truly massive caloric-drain issues in the cold, answers "how" they survive to evolve.
  • 28:25 do they also like shiny things 28:52 new merchandise idea 29:01 a entire world of pets has opened. The question is do they get along with dogs or cats better

Could you do something like "What if we domesticated ______?" What different breeds could arise after 30,000 years of domestication. Random animals like bears, ostriches, or even otters. I don't know, just something to think about. How they evolve with humans like dogs, cats, and every other long time domesticated animal we have today.
