The Budokai 3 Iceberg Explained

I was kinda surprised when I saw the "Budokai 4 Mod" in the iceberg, I was sure you were going to talk about one of the many B3 mods out there, but instead seeing our B4 Project featured in your video was a wonderful surprise. Thank you. This video was really interesting, hope to see more from you. :)

i personally prefer Budokai 1's actual animated cutscenes over the visual novel cutscenes

Fun fact about Cell’s Spirit Bomb is that he mentions in the anime that he knows how to use it but he just doesn’t want to

The only thing I think that this Iceberg is missing is the immense amount of unused audio for Dragon Universe with the rest of the characters of the game. With crazy scenarios like a Saibaman rebelling against Nappa and joining Gohan and Krillin in Namek, Goku going Super Saiyan 4 to defeat Kid Buu, and Trunks meeting Broly in the future. Either way, this was a fantastic iceberg with a lot of new information I had no knowledge of!!

I loved the way they worked in SSJ4 as an unlockable in Budokai 3s Dragon Universe I hope we get an actual remaster one day

Dragon rush is not random, you have to hold the ki button while also launching the oponent to activate it during hyper mode

The Budokai Games were great, I remember the PSP games fondly

Super Saiyan Scouter Vegeta is damn cool. I’ve always liked the design and wish it was possible in the other games.

-I actually thought the Super Saiyan 2 Gohan model change was very common knowledge. -For the starting transformation battles in Goku’s dragon universe, it automatically happens in the first playthrough. Any subsequent playthroughs require triggering certain story cutscenes or going to specific destinations. -After the first fight with Final Form Frieza, you’ll run into 3 dots that will lead to fighting Cooler, SS Vegeta, or 100% Full Power Frieza on Dying Namek. Head to the south east one on the island to repeat the SS1 fight. -For the second playthrough of SS3 Goku vs. Majin Buu, right after the battle with Majin Vegeta before you fight Buu, you need to find and evacuate everyone to Kami’s lookout (Bulma in West City, Chichi at Goku’s House, 18 & Krillin at the Kame House). Do that and the SS3 battle will trigger again when you fight Majin Buu.

The Dragon Fist version seen in this game is the one used against Super Android 13. SSJ Goku attempts the Spirit Bomb but he can't maintain it since SSJ makes him too unstable to concentrate properly. He instead absorbs the energy and uses it to enhance the Dragon Fist technique he used against DK Piccolo.

I always thought the game's story let you start the fight transformed depending on if you skipped the scene that your character's transformation was involved in. Such as you start the fight out against Majin Buu in base form if you skip the scene, but start out in SSJ3 if you play all of the dialogue before the fight. I tested it out multiple times as a kid.

Loved the video. You could have mentioned the best combo of capsules that the Devs definitely left in. If you notice Majin Vegeta's only triggers when at the last HP bar, so if you pair it with Senzu Bean you get to play as Majin Vegeta at full HP. (and they fit perfectly together)

-The 'Goku Scouter' entry is something I kinda like, because I never really liked that Ginyu and Goku kept their voices even when body swapped; it makes more sense that Goku stills sounds like Goku even when Ginyu is in his body. -Broly showing up after Goku beats Super Buu as a what-if is so funny to me, like he just wanted that fade so bad he defied the script. -the 'SSJ5' SSJ4 Gogeta color palette is sick as hell with the white hair and golden fur, but I cannot get over that he's just inexplicably black. Budokai 3 made the 'Goku Black that is black' joke decades before Lythero did gotdamn

Hands down one of the best dbz games of all time the game really makes you feel like your in dragon ball the attacks and the customisability really makes the game enjoyable as well as the roster being fantastic it’s great to see a video on how deep the game goes since it has tons of secrets and Easter eggs from dbz

I always liked the majin vegeta transformation with the saiyan armor outfit and scouter.

Cool detail about Dragon Rushes is that Frieza, Cell and Cooler have a Death Beam barrage as the final move while third form Frieza does the Crazy Finger Beams he used on Piccolo. I love Budokai 3 so much I don’t care about the story being told through the cut outs. 4:56 always loved this. 11:07 removed What If is probably referring to the removed Dragon Universe campaign that was about Kid Goku travelling forward through time.
