I saw this on stream, I am at 13:11! Oh and also, on KDE you can just change the size of the taskbar, KDE is very customizable.

By the looks of it, it's the same laptop that Tuxedo sells. Those laptops have issues with USB-C charging and by default are set to prioritize battery charging instead of performance when on USB-C power. Tuxedo's Control Center has a toggle for this, but the laptop still underperforms on USB-C power, even if the battery is at 100%. You need to be plugged into the barrel charger in order to achieve max performance.
  • w What's going wrong with your original Tuxedo laptop.? Whats wrong with the plans for a new RISC5 version for framwork ?

hi ! i like you scalling settings , what's your settings? cause mine looks so bad even when i use the 125% in ubuntu
  • I think it would be a great idea to use what they did for UI of the bash power utility for linutil, very much in the spirit of winutil!
  • Kubuntu Focus is excellent. Have 4 of their machines!

Im on Arch with KDE 6.3 and wayland and the experience is much better, it used to flicker with the Adaptive sync enabled but not anymore, and used to have a weird mouse issue when gaming, all fixed now.

My legion 5 at least complains whenever i use a lower power charger, all of which are lenovo chargers, the one that came has 300w but i got it down to 90w and the bios will say "slow charger, make sure to use the one that came with the computer" and ye i did hear about not really being recommended to use even if the machine charges. Both EndeavourOS and windows 10, do rather well still even with dgpu on, just cant push it as much naturally.
  • Quick question. Because your the only one that i can find that seems to know. I am trying to move to Linux, i run Debian testing on all my servers. I am now trying to get programs on my desktop which runs Debian testing. Davinci resolve is the big one it refuses to install because of missing dependencies not available on testing repo. How do i install the needed packages that exist in the stable repo. This is the only thing keeping me on windows.
  • I'm not a big fan of System76 computers. I bought a Lemur 6 laptop from them in 2015 or 2016. It came with a half working space key. Not good. I later bought a replacement keyboard and the replacement also did not have a fully functioning space key. Because of that it mostly sat in the laptop case unused for a couple of years. Later I decided to use it for distro hopping. I still have no idea what was wrong with it, but if I ran anything other than Pop!_OS the laptop would suddenly shutdown as if it had no power even though it was plugged in. Just yesterday I drug it out again and installed UB Bluefin on it and half of the keys were mapped to numbers instead of the correct letters. I just gave up and re-installed Pop!_OS on it. I'll probably just end up giving it away to a niece or nephew.

I wonder if you can replace the Ubuntu super key with something else
  • 1:42 i have a 13,3 inch laptop with a 4k display. Benefits? None at this screen size. Downsides? lots but mostly scaling and battery life. My next laptop won't have a 4k screen.

After genuinely despising using Windows 11 on some Lenovo laptop, I picked up the HP ZBook Fury G7 I had from a cousin and pushed Debian 12 (Wayland, Gnome) onto it. Anyway, the biggest issue that I've had by far was getting the non-nouveau NVidia drivers working. Because the whole OS drive is LUKS this was painful ... but I got there in the end. :) ( I am a re-noob to linux )
