  • Barbed wire is such a nonissue, these drama queen politicians need to figure out a proper system

To quote one of my other favorite YouTubers (ShortFatOtaku): "If nobody ever so much as inconveniences the thieves there will simply be more thieves and the fabric of society breaks down, It becomes a far worse world to live in where you can't trust your fellow man or the institutions meant to protect you or the possibility that you could work hard and save for the future. If bad people are willing to risk violence to get what they want and good people always stand down because violence is bad then bad people always win."

Things are going to get worse before they get way worse, but then they will settle down to worse. Love you man. Stay safe.
  • Some studies show a strong correlation between crime and poverty. Perhaps a UBI would help reduce crime rates some? As far as illegal immigration, the USA needs more processing facilities and more agents and more judges at the border. Also, more intense diplomacy between the USA and the countries that have the most immigrants coming from them is necessary. Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and some of the other countries on our side of Earth should be convinced to take some of these folks. Another issue is the fact that in these countries, birth control is a "sin". Most are Catholics. Humans fuck, it's a fact. Too many people, Too many......I don't know. Those are things that came to my mind as I watched your video. I always find your videos very thought provoking and entertaining.

Have you heard of the tofu buildings in China? That is some bad regulation. I've been interested in the graffiti skyscrapers in LA, where these unfinished luxury apartment buildings (financed by a Chinese developer that ran out of money) got covered in graffiti a few weeks ago, like it sort of got coordinated over the internet, and every floor of these high-rise buildings has graffiti on it now. People have also been base jumping off of the top of the buildings. Now police are pretty heavily patrolling the buildings. I wonder what sort of regulation is in place to minimize the risk of having a company run out of money before completing a large project. It might be a difficult thing to address.

Some people value martial law over humanity.

You know after 10 years and much difficulty I finally obtained a green card. I graduated as a STEM major at a US university and have been working in research ever since at the same university (I have worked on a lot such as biosensors, cancer, genomics, now currently in a cardiology lab and am working on a tech startup on the side). During the 10 years I worked incredibly hard to remain in the US legally, there were even points where if I left the US while I had some applications pending I would not have been permitted back in the country and my applications would fall through. During that time both my Grandparents developed cancer, and my mom developed really bad anxiety. I hadn't seen my family in over 4 years. Thankfully both my grand parents pulled through, but in the back of my mind I was wondering if I would ever see them again, and if they died if I would even be able to attend their funerals. All this because I want to become a US citizen some day. Now when I see all these millions of "refugees" being given a golden ticket to prosperity, I wonder to myself have I been an idiot this whole time? They get enter without a care in the world about US laws or contributing meaningfully to the country. What was the point of trying so hard, when others get to break the rules and are rewarded for doing so. Why are we rewarding criminals? I am just so tired.

shoplifters have a right to a trial before being punishment. So do migrants.

Hand over your wallet Kizzume. Put it in my left hand as my right wrist is sore.
  • @KufLMAO
I’m sorry but Kizzume we do have an 8th amendment and it doesn’t take a far-out interpretation of that to conclude that this is not punishment fitting the crime. Illegal border crossing is not inherently bad. It’s like illegal gun possession. It is illegal because what that person MAY do if allowed to cross/carry that gun. I’m not arguing that guns should be completely deregulated or that we should have an open border. But there has to be proportionality.
  • @Inosix
Kizzume, please answer this question. Are you Christian?
  • @MitchCrane
So I'm not big on retribution. Punishment should effectively discourage bad behavior and nothing more. The desire for retribution is a natural emotion though, and I think a lot of this stuff just makes some people feel better knowing people they don't like--shoplifters, illegal border crossers, etc--are getting hurt. I don't know how effective razor wire really is in discouraging people from crossing the border. I suspect not very, but it makes conservative politicians look good. "Look at me, I'm making these criminals bleed!" Maybe we could try mine fields too. IMO, it's all virtue signalling. As long as life is a lot better on one side of that imaginary line we call the border than the other, people are going to cross over. That's not to say that we should just eliminate the border, but additional cruelty, drowning people in the Rio Grande, is probably subject to diminishing returns and at a cost--in all meanings of the word--that isn't worth it.

Did you remove my comment or did it get caught by a filter?
  • This is the same philosophy as calling a person a (MAP).... Calling them a pedophile is too hurtful.
