The 2005 Chicago White Sox had an unbelievable 2005 season, but are often looked over in the grand scheme of baseball history. Not only have they been forgotten by the media on several occasions since their historic run, but they are generally underappreciated by baseball fans. In this video, Matt goes through their 2005 campaign as a means of reliving, remembering, and appreciating their great season.

  • You have no idea as a white sox fan how good this feels to finally see the White Sox get some recognition
  • @NolmDirtyDan
This failed to mention that Scott Podsednik did not hit any home runs during the regular season
  • @lucmcdowell1167
Another amazing fact about this team is that for the first 34 games hall of famer Frank Thomas hit 12 home runs and had 26 RBIs before he went down with an injury. Just imagine if he had played that whole season.

“Baseball is a team sport, but unlike other team sports, one man can’t carry a team to a long postseason run” Truer words have never been spoken
  • I’m a lifelong white sox fan. Gotta say man this video brought tears to my eyes at the end. Thank you for letting me relive the greatest team us sox fans have ever seen.
  • Being a White Sox fan it honestly is the worst feeling getting forgotten about by everyone. That '05 season and postseason was as dominant as any team could be and seeing the whole country brush us off constantly is infuriating. Thank you for this wonderful video guys, probably the best video to showcase this unbelievable team and finally giving them the respect they deserve.
  • Thank you so much for doing this. Being a White Sox fan usually sucks so bad, and the lack of recognition for their greatest accomplishment just deepens those wounds exponentially. This video legit gave me goosebumps and it gladdens me to know that they aren't going to be completely lost in the annals of time.

paul konerko is one of the most underrated and under appreciated players of all time

"I've got to tell you, all year, we had to listen to people out there who told us we didn't have the team to do this. We were in first place at the break, and people didn't want to believe. We win the division, and people say we're gonna get beat by the Red Sox - didn't happen. We go to Anaheim, we've got to hear about umpires' calls. We go to the World Series, and now we've got to hear about domes and all kinds of stuff. I was trying to think in my mind what would make people think we're a good team." - Paul Konerko
  • i cannot see white sox’s home runs without hearing “you can put it on the boaaaaaarrrrddddddd yyeeeeeesssss!!!”
  • @scottnotpilgrim
I remember Ozzie Gullien saying after they won the World Series is that all Chicago cares about were the Cubs. He's mostly right

It’s sad how this team gets forgotten bc it’s one of the greatest of all-time. They went 110-64 including the postseason that saw them sweep the defending champions on the way to winning it all. I saw a comment a while back that said the 2016 cubs would destroy the 2005 white sox and it just made me smh.
  • Even as a Cubs fan this was the best postseason team I’ve ever witnessed.
  • “Heading into 2020, the future of the Chicago white socks looks brighter than ever” Shows clips of them down 13-2, 1-0, and 10-0.

Being a Mets & White Sox fan results in watching many painful seasons, but this was not one of them. Great video!
  • @bendrescher7185
I’ve always thought the 2005 White Sox were underrated. They were kind of overshadowed since the Red Sox broke the curse the year before.

Will never forget the 05 Sox, one of my best childhood memories. 2020 Sox got a lot of promise, excited for the future !
