I was raised close to Interlagos... it was amazing that during the race weekends we could listen to those F1 engines loud and clear, even though my home was 3km from the circuit. Those were the days...

Sono di Modena. Quando ero bambino, anni 60, e la Ferrari provava all'Autodromo in città, nonostante noi abitassimo a circa 3,5 km, sentivamo nitido il rombo del 12 cilindri e smettevamo di giocare per ascoltare. Un suono, una memoria...

I heard this beast at full throttle at Spa against the V10 McLaren Honda with Senna at the wheel. Scary, adrenalin pumping, almost fear at the sound. The Ferrari had a higher pitch engine note and the Honda just sounded brutal. Both cars flying up through Eau Rouge screaming will stay with me for the rest of my life. How F1 should sound.

i remember in those days, going at Monza for the test sessions, you could tell how many cars were on track and what part of the circuit they were just listening to their engines sound from kilometers away before even arriving at the track. this is just how a f1 should sound like

My parents remember waking up to this sound, 4AM - with me in the living room watching the opening or final round of F1 (Australia/Japan)

Amazing noise, can still remember first time I ever heard an F1 in anger at Silverstone 1988 with the Ferrari V12, so distinctive.

This V12 is the business! The tone is sick. So much more refined and melodic than the brutal scream of the V10.
