Coogan is incredible in this role. Nobody could've done this better.

Steve should win a Bafta for this. His portrayal was mesmerising.

Steve Coogan really is a brilliant actor. When I watched him play Stan Laurel, I felt I was watching the beloved Stan. The same with Savile. It was like watching Savile. Saviles victims are so brave speaking out and raising awareness.

Lets be honest it was a world class portrayal of Saville

Sam is a very brave lady. The aftermath of the abuse is beyond comprehension. I’m so glad she is able to tell her story.

Not many other actors would've had the nerve to go anywhere near this. Credit to Coogan for having the confidence to risk his career on it.

Watched the final episode last night, and genuinely there were moments in it when I couldn't work out if it was Coogan or Savile. Guy is an absolute genius, and his portrayal genuinely made my flesh crawl in parts.

Coogan has balls of steel to have even considered playing Saville....wow and what a performance of that creature he gave us, Steve should get every TV award available for this but I think the subject matter is so sensitive he wont.... brilliant acting and one of the most chilling TV programmes ever made.

Steve Coogan is bloody amazing!! He deserves every award possible for his portrayal of that evil person.

Steve Coogan was utterly phenomenal. Not an easy watch and yet compelling. There will never be justice for JS's victims but I so hope that they know there is a true sense of love, empathy and respect for them all. Thank you Sam for your courage

Only Steve Coogan could have pulled this portrayal off. I was skeptical going into it and sure you could make a case for criticism but I think it was executed with great consideration and provides valuable insight.

Total respect to Steve as its a very hard part to play, and after watching this series I was amazed how he looked and sounded like him,

Steve Coogan nailed Jimmy and his speech and mannerisms. He was brilliantly creepy if that makes sense. You don't see the acts, so it's left to your imagination, and that is just as bad as the real thing. Steve could get awards for this. And that isn't glorifying Savile at all, just commending Steve's acting talents.

Steve Coogans finest hour. An incredible piece of acting and nailed the character.

Jimmy Savile was my bogeyman as a kid. He terrified me. I watched Coogan play him yesterday and I was instantly a kid again. I was uncomfortable, scared, and repulsed all over again. Excellent job! The man can act

He absolutely nailed the role of saville. The voice the personality the body language mannerisms the lot. Nobody else could have done it.

I have just watched all 4 episodes and I have to say it was very disturbing but hats off to Steve Coogan, he portrayed Saville to a tee. His mannerisms, everything it was all there. It's a very powerful drama, one no adult should shy away from.
  • Just watched The Reckoning and Steve Coogan was amazing. As a victim of childhood sexual abuse I found the programme disturbing, but it really highlighted how perpetrators get away with their crimes, and the lifelong damage they cause.

Mark of a truly dedicated actor, is to play a real life Villain (monster, even). Steve has my total respect, for bearing the weight of playing such a role.
