This Documentary paid tribute to Sir Jimmy Savile the radio dj & television presenter who died on 29th Oct 2011 in Leeds.

This is the only documentary that paid tribute to the disgraced presenter. The BBC knew of Jimmy Savile's dark side before this documentary was broadcast but they decided to air it anyway.

there was a news night report put together revelling the child abuse perpetrated by jimmy savile but was scraped by the BBC because this tribute documentary was about to be aired.

It’s crazy to think, if you had no idea who this man was and watched this documentary unknowingly, you’d think the guys a great guy and done good things. Just shows you how easily it is to manipulate people. Scary actually

THIS should have been the first half of the Netflix documentary...followed by a huge RECORD SCRATCH....and then the truth.
  • "Those who appeared on the show alongside him never forgot the experience"...Now those words have acquired an entire new meaning.

Next on BBC 1 we dive into the exciting and unconventional life of an Austrian maverick. From Viennese artist to chancellor of Germany, from Munich beer halls to the Berlin Reichstag: it’s Adolf Hitler: As It Happened.

Big thumbs up. This needs to never be hidden, lest people forget the BBC paid tribute to this monster.
  • Every interviewee on this documentary (a few months later) "I always knew he was creep..." "I kept my distance from him. Horrible man...." "I never liked him. He gave off evil vibes...." "I heard the rumours and went to the BBC but got a threatening phone call in the night...." "I knew he was a wrong 'un but nothing could be proved....." "I heard he was a nonce but he had the best libel lawyers protecting him." "I was being sarcastic on that tribute program." "I thought they were asking me about Savile Row Suits."

Jimmy reached through the camera and grabbed me

it is just dispicable that the bbc showed tributes whilst knowing of so many allegations...shame on them

If anything, this programme proves that you shouldn’t believe everything you see on tv.

Horrible man. My heart goes out to the victims. He committed vile acts for years and got away with his crimes because the of powerful people he mingled with who were also covering for him. They themselves were guilty of the same atrocities. What a disgusting and deplorable bunch.

I watched this in two ways: as someone who would be oblivious to what he did, and then rewatched it as someone who knew what he did. Just goes to show how easily this vile monster could wrap people around his finger.

And to think the BBC made this tribute knowing full well what he was.

Interesting story I saw on a Facebook group: This guy moved to the UK in the 2000s to be with his girlfriend. When he first saw Jimmy Savile on TV, he jumped up, pointed at the screen, and said "Who the FUCK is that guy?!" If Jimmy Savile wasn't famous, you would quickly run to the other side of the street if you saw him on the sidewalk.

"Fixed it for thousands of kids..." He sure did, didn't he
  • It shows just how he managed to pull the wool over everyone's eyes. I just considered him a harmless eccentric and was shocked when the truth came out in aC4 documentary almost exactly a year after his death.
  • @RandomRob74
How could the BBC air a tribute to him when they knew about his dark side. It's utterly inexcusable.

a beautiful example for how manipulative and fucked up television is

50 year old guy in 1976 fronting a programme for teenagers and kids and nobody thought there might be something wrong 😮
