Well said Gary. Truth be told, ‘What He asked us to go through was completely out of everyone’s wheelhouse.’ Amazingly though, once you put the time in and developed a system to the point of everything going on auto-pilot and you’re just reading the melody, you begin to understand time and space internally. And that’s the real key to being musical and that’s far more than just being a drummer.
