Once this thing reaches 88 mph, you're going to see some serious shit.

That car owes so fucking much to BTTF it's insane.

    World's fastest DeLorean? What'd it do.....89 MPH?
  • @corvetteguy1980
You could always try and push it up to 88mph with a locomotive

6:04 You need to rewatch Part III, Matt. "Mr. Fusion powers the time circuits and the flux capacitor. But the internal combustion engine runs on ordinary gasoline, it always has."

Maybe some people want a DeLorean for its looks, not speed.

Pity he didn't go into the DeLorean story, I think it's the best part of the car: Built in Northern Ireland during the middle of the Troubles when no-one would go near the place.  Thatcher brokered a deal with DeLorean, effectively paying him to manufacture there.  It all ended in a big embarrassing mess of cocaine and cash. Loads of guys who worked for DMC are still knocking about.  My neighbor used to be one of the guys who drove-in all the new cars.  Just drove them 'round the block to see if the wheels stayed on' to quote him.   They still hold a huge legend status in NI.  We're oddly very proud of making a very iconic yet pretty shite car...

Saw a De lorean at a car event that had been cleverly converted to an ev by a wind energy company. The take off speed was truly phenomenal. A whole new meaning to 'back to the future'

Having the fastest Delorean is like being the smartest person in special ed. No matter what you do, you'll always be relatively slow

About the PRV V6. What most of you don't know is that it's the engine that powered the car which holds to all time top speed record at LeMans. The WM P88 was driven to an official 407km/h (253mph) in 1988 on the Mulsanne straight. That was in the race itself. During practice Roger Dorchy drove the WM P88 to 416km/h (259mph). The PRV V6 was good enough for 850hp in race trim and 900+hp in qualifying trim. They added chicanes to the Mulsanne straight in 1990 so those top speed records are unlikely to ever be broken unless they remove the chicanes. So while the stock motor may not have appeared very good it certainly had potential and proved it at Le Mans in 1988. 259mph is 1988 from a 2,8 liter V6 developed for roadcars in the early 70's is not to be scoffed at.

With a twin turbo 109 block, that SOB should take off like a bat out of hell.

I like the flux capacitor on the bench behind Don. Which is good, in case you ever need one.

anyone else notice the mysteriously vanishing pothole at 4:00 >.>
  • no offense intended here, but that episode was kind of a waste of time, the car broke down multiple times, then died completely.  He should go back when it's all tuned up and let loose those 575 HP, or at least pour some gas on the ground and make some flaming tire tracks like in the movie

The flux capacitor in the background over the mechanic's shoulder was charming. I would never CONSIDER owning a Delorean without installing one.

Their is a guy in Houston Texas that owns all of the doc parts that were left buy the dmc company. He can make you a new one for about $40 grand, I believe.
