Gorillaz presents… Skinny Ape (Immersive Live Performance in Times Square)

My friends and I appear at 0:56! We made it bois, we are now canonically part of the Gorillaz cinematic universe.

Even if you don't like Gorillaz music, you gotta admit the dedication to keeping these characters alive for years is very impressive and admirable especially considering how expensive they are to animate in 2D and 3D.

Imagine just watching Murdoc float around a corner-

Idk why but seeing everyone jump at 3:13 and 4:21 made me tear up a bit, it's beautiful to see people all collectively enjoy something together

I love how the characters look with the 3D models, it’s very stylized and unique. I love seeing them in the recent music videos.

Imagine waking up to see that there's 4 animated characters outside your house 💀

I love how they synced up the music to the animation. They are actually hitting the right notes at the right time on their instruments. It's rare that animation is so precise when it comes to music.

While I love the 3D models of the band members. The 2D models will be forever a source of nostalgia.

Been waiting for so long to see an emersive performance again and this one is mind blowing. You can do it even in your living room. Gorillaz never stop to amaze.

Damon's voice always makes me feel comforted and seen. I just adore him.

Murdoc loosing balance while levitating is the best part XD

It's impressive how they're still so damn good after 22 years If the singles are any indication, this is looking to be another fantastic album from them

My favorite part is Murdoc’s sly smile at 4:43. It’s clearly just a look of “Yeah, it’s amazing and you know you love it.” And insert any number of self appreciation/narcissistic Murdoc lines.. 👌🏽👏

i was at the live event and i was in some crowd shots for the video! amazing experience seeing the performance as well as meeting a bunch of other gorillaz fans!!!
