Derrick White is the glue guy. He does everything and plays great defense. You dont need to run plays for him to effective.

His stats? See this is the problem, you guys get so caught up in the surface level stats and try to make it as though that's all there is to it. Derrick White is a hugely impactful player, that's what matters. He can't score like Gil, but he can do basically everything else Gil could not do at a high level at his position.

Tayshaun Prince was on the 08 team, i would say they are comparable in terms of versatility and impact. They always have a couple glue guys

Tbh I trust D-White over some of the star players on the team to hit his shots and make sound decision. I can't recall seeing him do something that makes me think "what the f*** were you thinking" unlike some guys on the squad. His ceiling isn't the highest but his floor is so high becasue he knows how to not mess up

Back in the day, the world thought we was a cheat code because we bought out our BEST players when in all reality, not only did most countries like RUSSIA, SPAIN, ARGENTINA & other powerhouses put their best players on the court, but these teams have been playing together since they was able to dribble. We’re probably one of the only teams that have players that lived in different states with different basketball backgrounds until they met in basketball camps, NCAA tournaments and other pro leagues
