Today, we sit down with Trent Horn from Catholic Answers to discuss the House's recent bill aimed at preventing anti-Semitism and some of the biggest differences between Catholic and Protestant theology. Is it anti-Semitic to say that the Jews killed Jesus? Why do Catholics pray to Mary and the saints? Why don't Catholics believe in sola scriptura? And how do Catholics and Protestants differ in their beliefs about salvation?

Allie, I'm grateful for you having these discussions. I was Anti-Catholic a year ago and thought you owned George Farmer. But that debate got me interested in researching Catholicism. Fast forward, and just 5 weeks ago I was confirmed Catholic at the Easter Vigil.

Born as a Muslim, found Christ. Became Protestant Christian, till I noticed various disagreements within the Protestant Church. I knew something was wrong. But I knew one thing, that Christ must have left us a true Church, because the Bible often warns against false teachings. I just knew deep down that God will not leave us like lost sheep. After 2.5 years, I am convinced that the Catholic Church is the Church that Jesus left us. Last December I joined the Catholic Church and will remain in it until my last breath. Thank you God for everything.
  • I'm currently a Protestant in the Philippines, but when I started to watch Trent Horn's videos, that kinda flipped a switch inside me and unfolded a lot of Catholic truths that i was blinded all along as a Protestant. Kudos to trent! And Im planning to be baptized in the Catholic church next month. PRAY FOR ME!

I started seriously looking in to Catholicism a week ago. This weekend I prayed through the full rosary, took about an hour and a half as I’m still memorizing it. For the first time in my life I have felt a genuine burning for knowledge of the lord in the last few days. Looking forward to continuing this journey.

I’m a Catholic revert. I turned my back on Catholicism years ago and went to a Pentecostal church for about 10 years. I eventually got tired of the rock concerts and pastors screaming into the microphone approach. I found that as I got older I needed a quieter more reverent way to worship and that’s what the Catholic Church offers, worship, adoration and reverence for Jesus. I believe God led me back to the one true Church. As I delved deeper into Catholicism, I discovered many misconceptions and my faith grew stronger. I’m proud to be a Catholic. Thank you Jesus. ✝️🙏🏻

I am a former protestant pastor who is now converting to Catholicism. I reached a point in my studies where I could no longer deny that the Catholic Church is the church that Christ founded through Peter and has continued for 2000 years. The more church history you study, the more your eyes will be opened.
  • this is the kind of conversations catholics and protestants need to have. full of charity and patience. All Glory to God!
  • I grew up in the catholic church, went to Catholic school, did the confirmation as a teen and still didnt have salvation. When I was around 16 years old a protestant friend's mom gave me a bible that was easier to read than kjv. I was reading Romans 10 one night and found it said if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, you will be saved. At that moment I realized salvation is really that simple and I was so thankful to God for sending Jesus to die in my place for my sins and to give me the righteousness of Christ. I never knew the gospel all those years in the catholic church. It was His Word that I needed to read for myself, that it is only by faith that we are saved. Christ alone through faith alone. All glory to Him alone! Your shows should go longer than an hour because they are so good, people will not mind a longer show. I wish you could have asked him all your questions in 1 show.

As a Protestant, I will say that Catholics like Trent have really given me a better understanding of the faith & a respect that I did not have before. I grew up going to catholic school & have many catholic family members. However, what ends up happening at family events are those surface level debates that go no where instead of learning to understand & digging into church history. Appreciate it!
  • I went to a coffee shop yesterday and heard two men discussing this episode, so I had to come see! I am a new Catholic convert from Protestantism. I couldn't help but smile as I overheard them discussing this topic. They were impressed with Trent and had their perspective changed on Catholic teaching. Great job, Trent. You are a treasure to our community.

Trent is one of the best at arguing against Sola Scriputura. Also, Trent's ecumenical debates are so full of grace and humility, and is a service to Catholics.
  • I used to be an atheist, then moved to be a Protestant and finally came to become a Catholic. Reading and research brought me to the Catholic faith.
  • I’m a Catholic Convert from Church of Christ. I spent 29 years hating the Catholic Church, but people like Trent Horn really opened my eyes to the truth. I appreciate Allie’s willingness to have him on her show. These dialogues are important for the faith of all Christians.

After hearing this debate, I thank God I'm Catholic. Long Live Christ the King!

I converted last year from methodism i studied calvinism for 10 years and ended up making me Catholic! My sins have all but vanished, amount of time in prayer has mulitplied, thirst for the word, etc! Thank you god for showing me the truth. All those years of protestant confusion are gone forever!
  • I am a Catholic, reading these comments are so inspiring. I love all of you all that are starting to come back or truly find your faith. Praise God!

Then Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!". Luke 1: 46-47

Two decades after leaving behind my Jehovah's Witness upbringing and becoming agnostic, I became a Catholic this Easter Vigil. Every day I'm filled with gratitude to God for discovering a spiritual home rooted in tradition, history, and deep theological teachings. As a newcomer to Catholicism, I've come to realize that some of these teachings can be misunderstood, and I appreciate forums like Allie's channel where Christians engage in respectful and thought-provoking debates. Trent's discussions have helped me grasp some of the finer points and nuances of my newfound faith. I like to say my RCIA class and fr. Mike Schmidt's Catechism in a year were instrumental in laying a solid foundation for my Catechization and I received much needed reinforcing of my understanding of Catholic doctrine through Trent's debates. I'm immensely grateful for the support and resources that have guided me on this journey. May God continue to bless us all as we deepen our understanding and commitment to our faith and understanding of each other.
  • Allie, i am catholic, but truly impressed not just for your beauty, but for your authenticity , respect , and love for giving to Jesus what belongs to Jesus. I culd tell you from heart thks for you passion, bible knowledge, and abiliity to have a great conversation with someone who also loves Jesus and not having many things in common you both were able to handle all the Q/A with total respect and clarity
