  • I think this is the music he matured into, no doubt he’s got a lot more to share with us musically. I feel that this album contains his growth and experience through the years. His strength is his honesty and openness. I feel honored and blessed to witness this evolution of his music and him as a person.

His lyricism is insane... No one can write beautiful and meaningful words like him.
  • RM: "My beginning was poetry- it's the one and only strength and dream that has kept me going." A very revealing reflection on the joy and price of success and fame.Absolutely love it. 💜

NO SPOILERS: I recommend watching tiny desk performance for his album. He sings a song from his "Mono" mixtape from 2018 called "Seoul" Then he sings the first two songs from the album and explains them as well. I think you're really going to enjoy it. The live band and the cozy setting is beautiful

RM is a poet.💜 This song is spoken from the heart

Thanks for the reaction! I’ve refused to view others’s “explanation” of this song. To me, it’s a reflection on how BTS’s success has been far from what he’d dreamed of & how he has struggled with that fame of being RM. Now, he’s ready to be Kim Namjoon - no one special, just a guy who wants to recede into gentle obscurity for awhile. However, he tells us RM will return some day. And the last word he says is “Trust” which is what the band has asked their fans to do during this time when the members are finding themselves as soloists.

Literally bawled watching this. As a fan since 2014 and someone who saw all of the major changes and achievements in their lives, it was so meaningful to me to finally hear what RM truly felt after all of this.
  • I love your break downs. When I first heard this song, it hurt my heart, for him. But then I saw the RM Live Seoul and he looks so happy and more at peace. As I am sure you guys understand, being highly intelligent is not always easy particularly if you are creative. He performs songs off Indigo, Persona and Sexy Nukim. A must watch. Can NOT wait till you get to my favorite song off the album ~ Lonely 😘💜
  • Namjoon struggling dealing with fame and all its trappings, trying not to lose sight of himself while the whole world watches his every move. The fireworks/wild flower/flower work lyric actually came from his post back in 2017  titled   불꽃놀이the Korean title of "Wild Flower," which rhymes with  (firework). He said, "Perhaps in our lives we need wild flowers [ 들꽃; deulkkot]-rather than flames [불꽃; bulkkot] or cherry blossoms [ 벚꽃; beotkkot]- in bloom, tranquilly."  It's flower work because wildflowers are like fire works, they spread through the field just like how fireworks spread through the sky except Namjoon is saying he wants to live as a calm wildflower rather than a flashy quickly disappearing firework. So instead of living like fire flowers that is brilliant but would quickly disappear, namjoon would like to live more like wildflowers that are calm and tranquil. He used 불꽃 wordplay in prev work too Him wanting a life like a tranquil wild flower instead of a flashy firework that is quick to burn out. He always paints such a personal and powerful image.

In an interview RM said he and the director have talk about Wild Flower MV for the last 3 years. So.. my assumption everything shown are intention and have meanings to portray how much he have gone through for the past years. Indigo is about his last 20s. He also specifically use korean traditional fireworks called nakhwa nori — made from stringing tiny bags with a combo of charcoal made from salt and burnt mulberry onto ropes that get hung over water and lit. Most of the time, they are burnt over water as it creates a beautiful scene of color and vibrance. RM even have to reach out to a culture council or something.
  • I think he just needed to get this out in order to move forward from the emotions he was feeling at that time. Even in the song Black Swan which was released in 2020, BTS talked about losing their passion for music. At that time, a lot of fans didn't pick up on the hints, but over time it has become apparent that BTS has been struggling with creative burn out for quite a while now. As they mentioned in the festa video, MOTS7 was supposed to be their last group album for a while. They were supposed to go on a break after the world tour, but the pandemic didn't allow the tour to happen. So they released Dynamite, Butter, PTD and even a pandemic album while waiting for things to go back to normal again. After the travel restrictions were lifted, they did the concerts at Seoul, LA and LV, and then announced their hiatus in June of this year. I cannot imagine how they must have felt during this time. The pandemic must have made them feel more stuck in the situation that they were in. So yeah, the last few years have not been the best for BTS in terms of creative fulfilment. Ironically, 2020 and 2021 were also their best years in terms of international success thanks to the English singles that they put out. As much as the English singles were celebrated, they also resulted in a lot of criticism and hate from international media and kpop fans. International media took every opportunity to downplay BTS 's success while kpop fans (and even some ARMYs) complained that the English singles were not as "good" as their previous works. Some fans even went as far as calling BTS sellouts because they chose to record a few English tracks. It must have been an unsettling experience for BTS, receiving all this intense adulation from their fans and then the intense censure from everyone else. And to think that they were already going through creative burn out at that time! I think RM's album, especially the title track, lets us see how all of this affected him and how he is coping with this situation. This album made me cry when I read the lyrics for the first time. I'm sure that was not the effect that RM wanted for the audience because it is a hopeful album. It has a serious tone, but it is still very much a hopeful album. But it was clear from the lyrics how much RM struggled the last few years and that broke my heart. That he was not very happy behind all the glitz and glamor. As an ARMY, I have literally seen in real time what BTS was put through the last few years. So it was painful to see it all spelled out in his lyrics. But I believe that making this album healed RM in a way because he looks so much happier recently. He even mentioned that he was motivated to work on his next album after he finished Indigo. He said it will be a more upbeat one which makes me happy. I can't watch him struggle anymore 😭 PS: I believe the line "The society is for the loudest, yet here I am speaking silence" from Wild Flower is a nod to the fact that BTS always has had loud haters, yet BTS chooses to remain classy and speak only through their music.
