  • Most grocery stores are scamming the consumers. They simply downsized the size of the container and charged the same....this is riduclous!
  • @dogoftheg
Now do Telus, Rogers, and Bell!! 🎉
  • @PhoenixMatrix8
How is it "unlawful" for the Competition Bureau to do what it was created to do...
  • @walkmanutd19
Competition in Canada is obviously joke after joke
  • @B.D.F.
Might as well throw Metro Inc in there. A mall near me has a Metro, and Metro’s deal with the mall stipulates that they’re the only ones allowed to sell dairy or bread, to the point where even if any coffee shops attempt to open in the mall they aren’t allowed to add milk or cream to their coffee, aren’t allowed to offer bagels with cream cheese, etc. It’s absurd.
  • @dongoggine
No kidding and the government doesn't do anything to make it more competitive.
  • @Michael-pg7rv
Remember when Loblaws and Sobeys fixed the price of bread for like a decade and no one was criminally punished?
  • @patientzero291
Sylvain Charlebois just said that 9 year scandal for just bread imagine other staple Canadian food.
  • @sl9504
Thanks for the perspective, Mr. Food "Loblaws owns me" Professor.
  • @Highaltitude45
Really? They're just doing this now. So Canadians have been suffering for quite some time now from sky high food prices and the bureau has just figured this out now.....unbelievable
  • This is typical of business in Canada. Rather than allowing for real competition to bring prices down, grocer's attitudes seem to be "You consumers ought to be grateful you have a store at all, and you should know not to complain!" The Telecoms are the same way.
  • @user-xs9ij7rr9f
Competition among corporations is pretty much dead in Canada. That is why we pay so much for everything. There is no competition to drive down prices. And no party is going to do a thing about it. pierre will avoid saying anything on it and trudeau will talk about it and do nothing. No point saying anything on NDP as we have never had the NDP win at the federal level. We just go from conservative to liberal and back repeat.
  • @JoeE.
This is the problem when only two companies are monopolizing the market. This doesn't happen in grocery food industry only. In telecommunications too, lack of competition is rampant particularly in Canada.
  • We have a competition bureau? Maybe its in concept only, like free markets
  • @wallybartfay56
Recall the price fixing for bread? History repeats itself
  • @dbmuir8683
maybe the federal-Conservative party & Ontario PCs could ask their senior-advisor Jenni Byrne for some helpful insight, seeing as how she's a Loblaws-lobbyist
