Who remembers Tony Soprano singing this song in his Chevy Suburban?

I love this song by Tony Soprano. How did he record this so flawlessly in a fast-moving car? Incredible.

One of the most criminally underrated bands ever… my favorite Steely tune.

Such diversity in their music. How did they do it? Every song a masterpiece. From Do it Again to this this completely different piece. Amazing
  • Right now I'm blaring this and my 5 year old is just full on singing along in the back of the car. This is actually one of her favorite songs. And I realized that I'm doing alright with this parenting thing.
  • Times are hard You're afraid to pay the fee So you find yourself somebody Who can do the job for free When you need a bit of loving Cause your man is out of town That's the time you get me running And you know I'll be around I'm a fool to do your dirty work Oh yeah I don't wanna do your dirty work No more Light the candle Put the lock upon the door You have sent the maid home early Like a thousand times before Like the castle in its corner In a medieval game I foresee terrible trouble And I stay here just the same

I have somehow managed to introduce myself to Steely Dan in my late 30s. The first song I heard was Black Cow and I was completely along for the ride. I'm awestruck by their musicality and how they sound so polished on live recordings.

The scene where Tony sings this to himself in the car lives rent-free in my head.

This really brings back memories of riding in the back seat of my moms pinto station wagon breathing secondhand smoke 😂. Great song! I read that they didn’t even want to include it on the album. Glad they did!
