Perrottet to commit over $1 billion for NSW floods

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet is set to commit over $1 billion to the state’s flood recovery following the expected release of a report into the NSW Northern Rivers and Hawkesbury floods.

“There is talk of as much as $1.5 billion for a fund to buy back homes affected by the Lismore floods,” he said.

Mr Clennell added the report is also expected to address the issue of raising the Warragamba Dam wall.

Why should taxpayers pay for other peoples life choices, they chose to live there knowing very well it has flooded many times over the centuries, are we going to buy back everyone in a bushfire area too.
