Anti-Smith antibodies (anti-Sm) are autoantibodies that are very specific for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
Anti-Sm antibodies are not sensitive (they cannot rule out SLE), but they are very specific (they can rule in the disease). If you like my videos, please consider leaving a tip at www.paypal.me/perfectionalis/

"Many people ,even who are called Stephanie pronounce their name wrong...Humanity is in trouble"😂😂😂😂

when i was diagnosed with sle those anti-sm antibodies were highly positive, in addition to ANA 1:20480 and dsdna 1:10240. i was lucky it was THAT obvious in my case... all the other parametres in addition to antibodies were tested positively as well. but is it really an indicator for a severe SLE course? i mean i have cns involvement for a high probability without clinical manifestations, onöly found atrophy in brain yet.

Yeh! Now I know more. These vids rock. Cheers!

I have the smith- antibody. ref range : 0 - .09 AI ; mine are positive at 1.3 -- do these usually stay positive (and never go away on their own without meds?)
-
I have positive ANA, speckled pattern 1:320. I was tested due to joint pain and fatigue. All the antibody test were negative. Does this mean I don't have lupus?
-
I have anti-SM.. positive... Is it major problem? Is it life long treatment? Next level?
-
My anti- SM is positive... future what will I do... It will clear treatment or control treatment
-
Thank you for this content. I am having trouble with my Rheum to diagnose me with Lupus. I have positive ANA and anti-SM @5:30

So If there’s Anti-SM positive++ it’s diagnostic for SLE?
-
Does this mean that a patient that tests (+)Anti-smith and (-)anti-dsDNA can still be diagnosed with SLE if the symptoms and clinical picture of SLE is present?
