"When we wrote this song, it meant to us very little. And tonight, it means even less. LADIES."

It's not even so much his accent as it is the fact that you've forgotten half the sentence by the time he's done.
  • It's so cool that this doesn't feel like an interview, and more like he's just talking to his mate. During the interviews he seems very stressed out and is kinda half joking all the time, but here is feels more honest. Imagine sitting with Al in the tour bus after a gig, just drinking beer and talk about stuff lmao. Cool
  • it's weird that the older a musician gets, the stories they told when they were younger feel distant. Almost like you're playing a shadow of yourself. To see your own songs as covers has to be the strangest feeling. Something you invested so much energy into, eventually becomes a stranger when you're looking forward and not dwelling in that time when you wrote it.

I think he struggle not to sound too poetic when talking to people

Seeing this video I forget how genuinely nice and polite Alex actually is

His speaking voice is so monotone and quiet, totally unlike his bold, syrupy, orgasmic singing voice

Everyone is talking about how hot Alex is, I just want the cool ranch Doritos in the back.

I like how sort of relaxed and humble he seems here, away from all the bigshot crap and the hype and the awards he's just a bloke with a passion for music. Some may find the strong Sheffield accent difficult, but it is a big part of what makes AM's music more unique and distinctive. I've grown up in the South West and I don't have much of an accent myself but I do have an appreciation for all the different tones and twangs from around Britain, his is quite relaxing in its way.

It's interesting the way that Alex pointed out that playing some of the older songs felt like they were playing cover songs. I always liked the older songs but I understand now why they don't play them much anymore as they don't really fit the style of their new stuff and so they sound a bit awkward. I still can't wait for whatever they do next!
  • I want a jacket like that.....and a face like that......and hair like that......I want to be Alex Turner.
