i gave a demo tape of my songs to the (really Great!) author William Gibson when he was doing a book signing for his novel " Virtual Light ".. the demo tape i gave him had this song " Dreamtime" on it amongst others, but that version had drum machines and synth pads and a bass line and electric guitar parts on it)..
it was at a bookshop on a place called The Bridges, i was wearing a long coat and this song mentions " cities that i made just for you ".. so i always wonder if he based the character called " the music master " on meeting me there and our conversation.. that character wears a long coat, and only appears at Bridges in cities made for a guy's daughter in a virtual reality construct of cities like Vienna that was made by a man for his daughter to guide her in life, she could summon the music master when she wanted to talk with him and get advice or educated on some subjects!
i really hope that meeting me at the Bridges and me giving him the tape of my songs and him liking them (and maybe listening to them while he wrote his next book Idoru!?:) is why he was inspired to write that character idea, it would mean my life means something if the character was based on me and the fact we met at The Bridges, like where the character appears, always say Bridges, me in my long coat like the character, and i gave him the tape of my songs at The Bridges! (with the lyric line in Dreamtime of "I'm flying low over dreamtime, I'm flying low over cities that i made just for you", the characters at some points fly over the cities in their virtual reality world made for them by their father or by them at parts)
it would mean so much to me if us meeting and my songs inspired that stuff! i love his writing so much! that would be so cool! i may be totally wrong but i think there's so many parallels in the imagery of when wet met and the fact we met at a bookshop at " TheBridges" etc and the lyrics imagery etc, i really do hope he liked to listen to my songs while he was traveling doing the book signings and got inspred to create that character, and the imagery in the plot, meeting at The Bridges, and flying low over cities that were made just for the lead character etc.. that would be so cool. i really hope that is what happened..
I'm mentioning it here so folk know the history of the song and the way it may have influenced a character and plot device in William Gibsons writing of Idoru. i hope he remembers, if that was what happened, it would mean so much to me
i called myself/my act/band name "Reconnaissance Fish" then, (my tape was called "Of Alchemys Universe") and the hardware the music master was interacted with through was a custom piece of kit called a sandbender from what i can remember, was it based on a fish design with scales? I'll need to re-read his book that character came up in.. it was the next book William Gibson wrote after Virtual Light, his novel "Idoru" from what i can remember.. i really do hope he based that character on when we talked at The Bridges when we met and i gave him my tape off my songs as i really wanted him to hear it as i really love his writing, it would mean my life means something if the character was based on or inspired by when we met

Dude, I get such Glen Hansard in "Once" vibes from your videos and songs. Too true about doing what you want before it's too late. To me it feels like in 2020 the world aged ten years in one, plenty of things that already passed me by and now the job is to make sense of the world knowing those things will never be. Good song, it definitely got me a bit introspective haha.
