no self-celebration. Just a realistic and sincere documentary about life on tour. With its problems, its stressing moments. Great, just great attitude. Thanks to Meshuggah

India has a pretty decent size metal community. They are dedicated and loyal to whatever metal bands theyre into. I don't understand why ppl are always shocked or surprised that there are metal heads in india. A lot of poverty-stricken countries usually have a solid metal or music scene in general because it is a positive outlet.

Honestly this is an accurate depiction of touring for everybody. Meshuggah are the only band that have had the guts to actually show it.
  • @GingerDrums
Yup. This is what touring is like. Communicating in second or third languages about cables, waiting around, airports, good show, waiting around, bad show, exhausted, energised, waiting around, more airports.

the most real documentary on touring ever. This is exactly what it is, kids, dont let the legends fool ya

What I love about Meshuggah is that they're all just normal guys. Their music is so enormous sounding but they're just regular dudes, and kinda quiet
  • @111danish111
I feel honored and proud that you guys came to India .

It might not have been a pleasing experience for the band and its crew, but being an Indian I must say that we keep a special alter for metal music and we worship our Gods with all we've got! Long live 'metal' Long live 'Meshuggah' 🤘🤘
  • @lostkauz83
Metal , always will be the blue collar side of the industry . Some of the hardest working musicians an often the least paid compared to pop trash ! Love to catch these guys in NC !

India is a great country and it fills me with joy to see the crowds so ecstatic about seeing Meshuggah. In the West we take the endless rotation of touring bands for granted and would rarely get anywhere near as excited as the Indian crowds..

Man the freaking sound check for Rational Gaze is KILLING at 20:50 on. The guitars sound awesome (you can hear the bass), you can hear the whole band sound, and the Jens starts with his stuff.... I can't get enough of these guys...AND they have had no sleep at that point. Real.
  • @Eeee-OBoy
Also, I love how at 20:21 during their sound check, they've played Rational Gaze so many times, they can smoke a cigarette, look uninterested, pay attention to everything else and play it perfectly. Meanwhile, the rest of us are over here like THAT SYNCOPATION AND TIMING, WTF. Every time.
  • @holmeh
Can't get enough of these Meshuggah documentaries where we get to follow unfiltered just all that happens.
  • @Mechagnomics
Meshuggah seem like a bunch of really even tempered and nice guys. This is a good thing, but it also makes it hard to create a really thrilling documentary about them.
  • @narrow2
Good to get a real view how touring is. Playing shows are awesome, but everything else is hell at it worst.
  • @MrXionarc
6:52 that's me there in the red t-shirt having a meshuggasm!
  • @Journeymanlive
I know it's a low-key documentary, but I can't help imagine the intensity to play there, and how beautifully music brings humans together. Those dudes produced a very original, inherent music in a cave in the north, and here they are exulting with very different people from a totally different world. Yet feeling the same beat, moving the same air together, pretty cool! thanks guys
  • @selfmademagic
21:36 considering who these guys are, the airport "metal"- detectors must be out of order...
  • @shash3391
Man I'm Indian and i really hope they do a show on India again. I will legit cry if they do. It is my dream to see them live

As a Swede watching this I get why some people view this as boring or depressing but: Swedes generally enter "work mode" during stuff like this, they care more about getting it done efficiently than anything and with lack of sleep, a lot of coffee there is a tendency to enter no-nonsense lowkey energy-saving mode. Which I guess most people do, some just treat it differently. And there's plenty of bad Swedish puns everywhere. Example "jet lite" they turn into Swedish for "Jättelite" which means "very little". But they definitely look like I do during nightshift.
