Snape is such a terrible teacher that his notes in a margin are better than his actual classroom pedagogy.
  • The best part about "Through the Griffin Door" is hearing them brainstorm and thinking "I bet they'll make a video about this topic!" 😂

One interesting bit of Magic from the books that goes unexplained is when they go to the cave in HBP, and Dumbledore starts feeling around to locate the entrance, and Harry notes that he hadn’t ever seen a Wizard work something out in this way

The conversation between Dumbledore and Harry after they watch the real memory is one of the best moments in the books. He taught Harry the mindset to face Voldemort, to embrace his destiny. Because walking into the arena with your head held high makes all the difference.

Dumbledore obviously taught Harry what saying something calmly means. "DIDJAPUTYERNAMEINDAGOBLETAFIYAH?!"

Oh my god I now realize that the reason why we hear the school song only in the first book is because its a hint to the fluffy solution
  • @hersirirminsul
This is such a good counter-argument for all the nay-sayers who didn't take the time to understand Dumbledore's difficult responsibilities and complex past, but just jumped on the bandwagon to call him a manipulator.

I like that J’s British accent is just horsely whispering in his normal accent

Interesting fact: There are only like 3000-6000 witches and wizards in Britain in the 1990s. No wonder it’s so special and such a big deal to be a wizard. Apparently there’s millions of others outside of the UK, but it’s weird to think about the other interesting feats of magic internationally (philosophers’ stone, elder wand, blue fire, etc…). Not to mention the extent of Voldemort’s prowess across Europe and how many wizard governments saw him as a legitimate threat.
  • He taught him the importance of love. He taught him the value of life, even your enemies. he made sure Harry knew his enemy as best he could.

I love seeing videos come out of ideas that organically come up in the podcast. So fun!

I went to a psychiatrist one time when I was stressed out in high school. She told me what she read in a book and I've been keeping it in mind ever since. That in life grades and numbers don't really make up life it's how flexible you are is how you were able to succeed.

I swear you guys need to be hired for film theory. Your so good!
  • One of your best videos yet. It’s been a long time since I’ve gained a new perspective on Harry Potter cause I’ve been at this since mugglenet. I really really appreciate this video.

A bit of trivia I learned about Harry's lightning-shaped scar from a YouTuber, Dr. Mike, when he reviewed HP. There is a procedure called a Z-flap(?) meant to hide a scar by cutting a Z shape in the skin and moving the two triangular flaps around to disguise the scar. It was cool to me.
  • Ooh I really needed this today 😊❤ It's like the cherry on top of the 'Dumbledore's big plan' epicness. Btw thanks for the charity you chose. My mom has sarcoïdosis and there is still so much to learn.

that grogu plush in the background his face suggests that he's seen some things
  • @MidoriNatsume
I just love the concept of remarkable acts having meaning and consequences. I believe it goes even beyond the concept of magic, they could be a fundamental part of reality, making the characters feel more wise and powerful for knowing about and being able to interact with them.

Great video. And so true that we’ve often learned the most from people who weren’t teachers in the traditional
