J. Krishnamurti - The challenge of change

Summary:

This film, of one hour twenty minutes, documents Krishnamurti's life from the early theosophical days to his mid-80's when he was still travelling, giving talks and holding dialogues.

Prior to the advent of video, rare film and photographs are used with an actor reading Krishnamurti's words.

This film is more than just a biography, it conveys the depth of his teachings, and comes back again and again to the question: Why don't I change?

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.

The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'

We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.

Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at [email protected]

    J. Krishnamurti...I was lucky to see him in Bombay 1980. Greetings from Berlin, Germany.

The problem with the world is Kardashians are more known and accepted than Krishnamurti. That is to say our modern orientation as humans is towards the external and not the internal for the search for truth. Why this video does not have 50 million views is beyond me.

What's really bizarre is, He actually did end up becoming Mankind's great teacher for generations to come.

Each time when I get trapped in all the teachings, the beliefs, the dogmas of any particular religion or authority to discover more, these videos actually make me free from all that confusion, and inspire me to discover myself in a direction which is actually directionless. Thankyou very much for these videos!

Excellent!! No path, no guru, no method. Just conscious true authentic life.
  • I was fortunate to hear him speak in person three times, twice in New York and finally in Washington DC less than a year before he died. As he walked out of the Kennedy Center in DC, I was amazed at how straight and briskly he could walk at age 90. Just as he walks in this video. He was in his 80s here. He only slowed down in his final months. And his mind never slowed at all. He was so full of life right up to the end. That in itself says something about his teaching.
  • We don’t change because We are not ready to accept the truth. Thank you for this video!

This present moment, without resistance. That is all.

There are these moments during his talks where he realizes some people go sleepy or lose interest. 1:10:36 was one of those moments.Having realized that... He asked the most reasonable & healthy question: " so what are you interested in? " that question really bothered my illusion..Having seen his expressions and hearing the tone of his voice. It just felt sincere.. revolutionary question that MUST to be answered by every single one of us. However the ultimate question was 1:13:43 . My so far self Psychological observations are; We as human species are being pacified, blinded, distorted, distracted and isolated by our own technological and scientific society.

“ A curious emptiness “is a beautiful way of describing his being

"How strange it seems that for 17 years we expected a world teacher, and now when he speaks we are hurt or angry. He is making us do our own work, and that is the last thing we expected of him." LOL
  • Timeless, spotless teachings. Now that we heard, the only way to repay his compassion is to live like him, simply, completely attentive in every action and energetically till we leave this earth. To humanity, lights within all. Thanks K and friends.

I went to school at Eerde about 12 years later. He would have been my kind of teacher! Its those little hints life gives you. Now 43 years of age trying to let go! “We” are one!😎

I was lucky enough to watch an advanced screening of this film in 1984 with Ms. Blau in attendance. I see the film has held up quite well.

It is very clear that K wanted to raise the consiousness of human being. He speaks with such an authority because he himself raised his awareness to its fullest.
