Why do people have to add phrases like "on the horizon" or soon? To effect a click. Yes, sometime before 2070. Why is 2030, 2040, 2050, 2060 or 2070 radically different? The mainland does not suffer en route. Taiwan's geography is crippling. It reliance on fossil fuel carried by sitting ducks abject. It will be just a matter of time very real MAD is established between China and the USA, when China's trade with the West is much reduced as a percentage of total trade, when domestic consumption is a much larger percentage of GDP, when the West will have insufficient non-military counter against China. The mainland targeting Taiwan's sitting ducks with very little force will eventually cause divestiture from Taiwan by the global industrialists, led by the USA. Much of divestiture from Taiwan will turn into investment into the mainland. I may or may not live longer enough to see reunification, but my children will. Taiwan is in a politically hopeless position.

Imagine if after Taiwan return to the motherland, China technology, education, manufacturing, wealth and even defense will all become better and stronger. That is why many countries from the west and some China neighbors fear. My wish is to see Taiwan reunify with our motherland soonest the better.

as Chinese I asked indians if they wanted to reunification with Pakistan ? I remember they said nope because the chance is like moon land on the earth, that's why I actually feel the same for this issue

Democracy always wins. History proves it, again and again. if something does ever happen to change things....West Taiwan will come back into the free, democratic, progressive, and prosperous bosom of the ROC.

China has the right to take Taiwan back, but not the Turkic nations that were and still separate from China. We do not recognise the invasion and absorption of the Turkic nations which are still considered autonomous regions.Even the Han Chinese have an incredible amount of Turkish ancestry due to the immense assimilation of Turks by Han and also Tang Dynasties so much so that some Chinese people started asserting audaciously that there was never a Turkic race to begin with. There is a truth that needs to be told here. China is already a very strong country and you do not need to continue occupying a country with a completely different nation and culture from yours to get even stronger. Because that's simply not acceptable and not how it works. Taiwan is Chinese and a breakaway land. That we recognise, but adding new factors to the equation makes it difficult to menage, thus adding new cultures and different races to your country can make it very difficult to menage.
