I'm from Alaska and the flag actually has a great story. An orphan named Benny Benson won a contest to design the flag when he was 14. 8/5 stars was extremely fair.

Keith should rate state flowers! Flowers have so many different meanings, so it would be fun to try and make the connection between those meanings and each state’s flower choices.💐
  • @julieearnest
Florida being described as “kinda beautiful but you zoom out and you’re back in Alabama” is very accurate in more ways than one
  • Gotta say, I'm down for more of this content. Did I plan on spending 45 minutes learning about flags today? No. Did I enjoy it? Strangely yes. GIVE US MORE.

I love that South Dakota's flag has "THE MOUNT RUSHMORE STATE" in large lettering surrounding a picture that is not of Mount Rushmore.
  • @eddis6283
"A moose, an elk, and an eagle walk into a bar..." is a joke we in michigan should definitely find an ending to.

Rating Maryland 0 stars is truly declaring war 😂 I don't think any other state slaps their flag on as much shit as Maryland does.
  • As a Maryland transplant, as soon as Keith insulted the MD flag, I came to the comments to see the inevitable backlash. You all did not disappoint.
  • @mydogbuffy2
Video idea: John Green tries to make Keith like Indiana.
  • @777leighx
As a Marylander, I was both horrified and amused. Here, the Crabs run wild and the Old Bay flows a-plenty. If anyone even suggested altering our hideously beautiful flag, they would be thrown into the harbor. We don't even know whats in the harbor. Good luck.
  • @FilthyGringo
The Utah flag motto just being "INDUSTRY" is so funny. Just like "HEY! GET TO FUCKING WORK!"
  • @sedonajones
As a Canadian, I am thoroughly enjoying reading the Marylanders beef in the comments Lmao XD
  • @Iris-qh2pl
As a Marylander, I don't think you understand what hell you've brought upon yourself, Keith. We take the flag VERY serious here.

For Arizona, the "orange" is actually copper for being the largest producer of copper.

Patriots from a couple of centuries ago: LIBERTY CAP!! Keith: LiTtLe sLeEpy cAp

I’m THRILLED you love the Louisiana flag! Yall didn’t quite cover it, but the blood on the chest didn’t exist before 2005. It was added after Katrina and it serves as a reminder of the strength sacrifice and unity that helped us rebuild ❤🐣

Keith, my wife and I love your guys content. When it came to the state of Hawaii's flag, we appreciate that you said your opinion. My wife, being of Hawaiian descent, and I agree with you about the colonialism of the official state flag (especially given the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy by American businessmen and Hawaii only becoming a state because, at the time, the only people allowed to vote were American citizens living in Hawaii, not the Hawaiian people) but your opinion of the red, yellow, green flag, we think, stems from you from not understanding the symbolism of the colors and what the symbol is in the middle so we thought we would explain: green represents the 'aina (which means land), red for the koko (which means blood, as in the blood of the Hawaiian people), and then yellow represents the feathers used in the sacred capes of the 'Ali'i (which is the royalty). The symbol in the middle is of two canoe paddles crossed behind a kahili (which is a royal standard of the Hawaiian monarchy - which is like a European coat of arms but it's made of yellow feathers on a long pole carried by a servant of the King or Queen either ahead of or behind them (or both) in a procession). A flag with palm trees and leis and roasted pigs isn't culturally representative of Hawaii - it's more representative of tourism and colonization - but we get what you meant.

Itd be super fun to combine this with a like "Keith Eats the best ___ from every state" and do different types of dishes. Like, the best sandwich from each state, the best salad from each state, etc
