The President of Rwanda Paul Kagame says the DRC President must resolve the DRC challenges and not blame the neighbouring countries. President Felix Tshisekedi has accused Rwanda of supporting the M23 rebels that have been fighting government forces in Eastern part of the DRC. In an exclusive interview with International News Editor Sophie Mokoena Kagame also touched on the relationship between South Africa and Rwanda and the coming elections in that country.

I still don't understand why these journalists are afraid to ask the right questions?

The problem of DRC is that the DRC is a victim of his own hospitality . In the 60's and 70's we attended schools with rwandese known as wa rundi. We welcomed them in our cities and villages as refugees , without a heck , now the wa- rundi are fighting us and claiming our lands. PKagame, please be humble and pull out Ruberwa and consorts from our shores
  • We’ve watched an interview of Mr. President warning the Pr. of Burundi for supporting the Congolese army fighting the rebels and I am still questioning myself after this interview, why was he concerned after all this explanation given?
  • Why do journalists never ask Kagame about the results of FDRL attacks against Rwanda since 1994? How many deaths, villages occupied, women raped, when was the last FDLR attack? The devil who is the father of lies must necessarily be surprised by Kagame's ability to lie. You can lie to some people for a moment, but you can't lie to everyone all the time. Time is the best ally of truth.

President Kagame is a very polarizing figure, on one hand we applaud him for taking his country from shackles of war to the highways of prosperity, on the other hand he's a hard handed leader who doesn't tolerate political opposition , he denies involvement in destabilizing DRC but facts with international organisations SUCH AS THE UN shows he is fully spearheading and supporting M23.
  • @og0567
Also interview the DRC president or official, please?
  • Drc has 9 neighboring countries, why only your country has a problem with Drc?
  • Kagame is unable to answer a very simple question: Are you supporting the M23 yes or no?
  • @babytigheyes
If he want Congo to negotiate with M23, why can’t he in return to negotiate with the FDLR?
  • Well explained, but some seem not to want to listen. Same communities & tribes were divided by colonial powers across Africa. Some renowned leaders on the African continent have many times explained that Eastern DRC issue. Ultimately, there must be external powers benefitting from the chaos

Great intelligence associated with great malignity, has turned Pr Kagame into one the Greatest Persecutors of this time. The day he will be able to truly apologize to Congolese People and to Rwandans for the Holocaust and the pillage in DRC, will be the beginning of real peace in the region. One of those who survived miraculously the silent atrocities of Pr Kagame in The World...
  • If this one man show is called one-on-one then journalism is dead and buried. No questions, no follow-up nothing really SABC 😢 Next time give this job to Mme Sakina at least with her we learn something. Tired of being fed by this Kagame propaganda.

Paul Kagame presents a carefully crafted image of himself. He adopts a victim posture while positioning himself as a fervent defender of peace, despite the fact that it was he who sent troops to a neighboring country under the pretext of fighting the FLDR, a group that had nevertheless been weakened after three generations. The FLDR movement poses no real threat to Rwanda, especially since their leader was neutralized by Congolese forces in 2019. Furthermore, the latest hostile actions against Rwanda were launched from Uganda. By what mechanism would Rwanda feel threatened from the DRC which has never launched a military operation against it?! Despite these facts, Kagame expresses a desire for dialogue. However, what emerges is an unacknowledged desire to maintain its hold on Kivu and to continue the exploitation of Congo's resources, as long as it does not encounter opposition from the Congolese government. This dynamic has already been fought by Joseph Kabila and it will continue. Although some international leaders, notably Kenyan, Ugandan and Western, support Kagame, it is hoped that SADC members, the main recipients of these messages, will be able to identify and avoid the manipulative strategies employed. The Congo, independent in its rights, owes no allegiance to Kagame. Pressure from foreign powers like France or the United States to impose a peace that would allow Rwanda to continue to benefit from Congolese destabilization will only delay the inevitable. A truly lasting peace between Congo and Rwanda cannot be envisaged as long as Kagame and the RPF dominate the Rwandan political scene.
  • @GaBlack-wo9vx
The question that I have, is the issue people supporting M23 or the issue is the reason why M23 are fighting!!! Why don't they want to solve the actual problem?
  • @amedecarlos341
And the aim of this interview is that, he wants south Africa to be on his side so that he can carry on doing what he does the best.
