It is so refreshing to see honest critics to Apple in CNET, this is not common nowadays.
  • @AlphaGeekgirl
I never thought I would see the day where someone outdoes Marques Brownlee in addressing all the issues in an Apple release!

Preach. If you can’t explain the iPad lineup to your parents in once sentence, something is wrong.
  • No Bridget you nailed it. Your video should be played at least twice in the boardroom at Apple.
  • @vlg12
Totally agree, too many configurations, too many accessories that do not work with older models
  • @sanchezfive
Agree, iPad lineup is confusing now. The only thing that’s clear is that they want you to buy the next price up until you hit the absolute limit of your budget.

I like your definition of your job: reporter. We miss that kind of quality, independence, objectiveness and accuracy in delivering tech news and conducting reviews.

As someone with an iPad Air with M1, I'm not sure if anyone is screaming for more CPU power in an iPad. What we do want is the underlying OS that will assist users and devs to make more use of that power. If Apple to continue to kneecap the OS, then really there isn't any point getting anything other than the regular iPad model with A14 series CPU.

100% Correct. Apple isn’t listening to its customers or major tech reviewers like Marcus Brownlee.. it’s simple we are all saying the same thing… we don’t need more hardware, we need you to fix the software .. MacOS will easily run on iPad hardware .. no more excuses about macOS and touchscreens .. just let it work !!
  • Huge props and kudos and RESPECT for adding a “Star Fox” reference. Somebody had a great childhood
  • @jimbuckets
Great video. The Steve Jobs focus on simplicity was a great callout. I’m confused why the keyboards aren’t compatible across the lineup and there are way too many pencils.

I lived in Europe for 3 years and came back to the iPod and then a few years later, the iPhone. It was a true revolution and it was fun. Then Steve Jobs passed and it’s just been endless reiterations, price hikes and embarrassing launches like the watch and goggles. Steve may have been a tough captain but he knew how to navigate the ship.

I feel like Tim Cook’s been spending a lot of time at Disneyland getting tips on how to squeeze the customer. Having Gil Amelio flashbacks.
  • Bridget, I totally agree! Is being the thinnest worth losing the camera, microphone and possibly sound quality on the 11” iPad Pro? This is a swing and a miss. I’m an iPad Pro user. I’m hanging on to my 2022 iPad Pro. I’m not missing much. Thanks for your honest reaction. I really enjoy your channel.

Thank you for saying what I’ve been thinking for years. Not only apple but a lot of tech companies need a simpler approach.
  • That was spot on take on the new Ipad. Quite an honest one as well. Keep it up.
  • @PaulSinnema
I’ve got the iPad Pro 12,9” with M1 chip, the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil. I’m definitely not going to buy the new M4 iPad because I would have to buy all the accessories again. The current one I own is fast, big and sleek enough for the next few years. All design changes are geared towards luring people into buying more Apple stuff. It goes against Mother Nature Tim!

The iPad Air line is basically the iPad Pro SE. It's the old iPad Pro regurgitated under a different name. The Air used to be about having a lighter iPad but now it's the holder of used Pro specs. Something to charge more than the base iPad but less than the new pros. They don't need it. All they have to do is number-name the Pros and sell the previous generation next to the new ones. It works for the iPhone.
