If you can measure stuff (tape measure, yardstick, or even just a school ruler,) cut stuff (hand saw, hack saw, circular saw, or a jig saw,) make holes in stuff (drill and some bits,) sand stuff (sanding block, palm sander, random orbit sander, or even just a piece of sandpaper,) and attach/connect stuff (glue and clamps, screws and screwdrivers, or just a hammer and nails,) then you can make stuff. Measure, cut, sand, attach. Ok, maybe sand again. The most important tool is your motivation. Just get out there and try stuff.

Bob, great Q&A! I especially loved your answer on the limited tools questions. I think the biggest thing I like about "Making" is the problem solving. Projects where I need to figure out the best way to do something are the ones that keep my interest the most. I think that is a common trait among most makers no matter what medium they gravitate towards. Keep up the good work!
