Hey, TheThings fans! Welcome back to another video. We all know the adrenaline and fear that comes with watching terrifying scenes from our favorite TV series and films - hiding behind your pillow or peeking at the screen through your fingers is all part of the TV and movie watching culture!

However, we were curious about whether or not the actors in these scenes ever got terrified while filming. We were shocked to find out that actors actually get scared filming more often than you think - and a lot of the time it isn’t because the script is scary.

In projects like Harry Potter, Stranger Things, Euphoria, and Hunger Games, the casts have had plenty of fearful moments for multiple reasons. From facing their phobias, haunted set location, to just working with some intense co-stars - they’ve all had their fair share of scares.

In some cases the actors were able to use their fear to enhance their performance, but the majority of the time they had to mask their true emotions and pretend like they weren’t secretly terrified. It’s a true testament to how amazing some of the actors in Hollywood are.

Ready to find out what scenes basically petrified Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke while filming Game of Thrones?

After watching this video we’re certain you won’t be able to watch any of these scenes in the same light again. Could you sense that the actors were terrified in these scenes? Let us know in the comments section below. Thanks for watching!

When reactions are so authentic, it makes the film that much more believable as well as enjoyable.

I've heard before that Rubert Grint (he played Ron in Harry Potter) was actually terrified of spiders so his fear was genuine

If I would have to jump into a poll with no bottom, then i would be terrified too
  • You forgot Alan Rickman in die hard. The director told alan he would drop him on 3 but did it on 2. It was a 30 foot drop. That look of terror is real.

Fiennes didn’t just terrify Daniel when they were filming. That scene in the last film when people think Harry is dead and Voldemort was talking to everyone in the courtyard? Fiennes was changing up his speech in literally every take. He was picking different characters to come forward at every take. The scene in which fiennes decided to pick Tom Felton was the one the directors decided would actually be put in the film. Also Voldemort hugging Draco wasn’t in the script either. Fiennes did that on the spot too. So you can assume that the whole scene of Draco reluctantly going to Voldemort was Tom acting on the spot, nothing pre-planned. There’s a video where the actor that plays malfoy mentions it in a behind the scenes thing and he comments it kept literally everyone in the room on their toes.

Titanic The actors of Astor and Guggenheim were extremely terrified for filming the staircase scene(which they could only shoot once). They were two elderly actors in a room full of stunt people. Guggenheim had such a horrifying expression on his face, it was left in the final cut. Astor kept calm but he looked worryingly at the crew during the scene, which led to only a few shots of him getting used.

another great example of this, is the shining. shelley duvall didnt know what was happening, and the entire "heres johnny" scene was not at all scripted for shelley, and she had no clue at all what was happening. she was completely terrified almost the entire time of filming. but yeah
