This episode should be called "What Makes Rick Beato Great". Excellent interview, what a knowledgable and interesting guy.
  • @Scottuz
I knew Rick was in the UK after watching him visit Abby road Studios, but didn't presume to think we'd see him on the channel. great stuff Lee
  • @Yupppi
Nice! It's funny to watch when two people who professionally interview people all the time sit together and interview one another, how the sense of timing is perfect. Like Captain asks something and sits quiet listening to as long as the talk comes, and Rick just stops right away when he comes to the end of his point and he's so coherent with his story telling, and Captain immediately catches the ball and throws it back. It's so smooth sailing.

When Rick interviews geniuses like Pat Metheny I can see how blown away they are with the depth of understanding Rick has of their music. Most interviewers only ask journalistic questions like "who were your influences" or "how do you learn guitar"? But Rick will want to discuss an interesting chord substitution or unusual phrase on some deep cut from an album recorded by the artist 20 years ago. Watch Metheny's face light up, his body language relax, and his attention focus fully on the discussion. Same thing with Sting. These genius musicians recognize a kindred soul and someone who truly appreciates and understands their work. Hard to beat that. ✌❤
  • When my youngest son was starting out this shop allowed him to play top line guitars. 15 years on he has the most amazing collection of gear and that's what he spends his money on. Great video
  • @scwebb
It’s Rick’s goal to appear on literally every other music YT channel now 🤣
  • @bestboy897
rick is a legend and he deserves all the success very passionate and knowledgable guy
  • In fact, this is not an interview, this is a perfect example of a good conversation of two greats. Thank you both :)
  • @KramerPacer2
rick made me understand modes despite my former teacher tried to force it on me and i never understood it. and all of that for free. such a mvp, such a great influence for me.
  • A Masters Degree in Jazz Guitar......now THAT explains a LOT! 😳😎😎😎👍
  • @tvlife19
I've never clicked on an Andertons video faster than this amazing interview. Rick Beato is awesome!
  • Two of my best youtube folks in the same video.. idk how i can contain my excitement 😢
  • @prettylady8133
Rick doesn't get nervous because he see's them ALL as people; not famous people. That's why these "Famous" people respect him and his fans as well.
  • @TomTowles
Holy fuck, what a great mashup. Two of my favorite channels collide
  • @kernowchris
Beato at last. I've been looking forward to this for ages. Rick is a Legend. Top work Mr Anderton.
  • @maxx.mazzeo
The story from a student to an excellent music and art communicator, what a journey
  • @jmplautz
Would have loved to have watched Rick do the $1000 challenge. When it comes to gear, he doesn't typically have a budget. So, watching him piece together something would be interesting. Where would he spend his money?
