  • I do batch errands too. I support a disabled brother, but work full time (also from home, luckily). It takes me several hours to get done with all the shopping, but it's nice to get everything done at once. I still visit our library too. I was going to get a Kindle, but then decided against it. I already have books I need to read. Have a good week.
  • Our public library is great. Auto renewals. And, no late fees if you turn a book in late.

My husband tells me I must have been born during the depression, so I must be doing some things right.😊
  • Earrings and books are my sources of kryptonite. I am practicing on being frugal but boy oh boy those two items. But I am grateful that I am able to learn and move on.

I do the same with workout clothes! I work out around 9 or 10 so if it's a wokout day, I put those clothes on when I get dressed, as soon as I get up. No excuses if I'm already dressed! I workout at home, too. One thing that saves us money in the summer is running our basement dehumidifier part of the day, not round the clock. The humidity level is still acceptable but it makes a double-digit impact on our electric bill.

I understand a physcial book can be the first preference. I find a lot of books online that are uploaded, free, and no library card is needed. It is usually older titles. It depends. There are different sites. Just keep searching and change up the keywords that are used. This option could help you when your physical book is due.

If i find quality books at yard sales for $1.00 or less, i purchase them. Then I take to used book store for "credit". Got over $25 credit for a $10 stack of books.
  • I agree with you about borrowing books from the library! I dont want to have a time limit on my reading. My daughters know what I like to read and find them so cheaply at sales and then they can turn around and resell them. I also order favorite authors off of e-bay..free shipping and cheap!
  • My issue is that 60% of my income goes to my house! I purchased a home in my 50's and now my Home (which I love) is my master. I do not over spend at all yet It is a challenge plus I have an older ill uncle who is my dependent there goes another bit of $
