The psychological horror films are more intense because it's Loosely based on reality because of the very fact that it could happen to anyone at any time

Poltergeist will be difficult to beat! This film attains a grueling intensity and uses fear of death to emerge as one of the most terrifying horror films of all time! Doing all that it accomplishes without a single kill is so impressive! That face peeling scene...yeesh, over thirty-five years after first seeing it and it still gives me the heebie-jeebies! The clown doll may be the only clown I actually find scary, too, as I've always viewed clowns as more sad than freaky, but that thing is absolutely terrifying! When that arm twirls around Robbie's neck OMG! Yeah, between the film itself and your argument on its behalf, Carlin's up to his neck! He's surprised me in the past, though, so we'll see!
