Leave when your company starts talking about “we are family” and “this year we don’t have the budget” .
  • @Aliciam139
I left a toxic job today. I will never stand for emotional abuse and being demoralized by anyone. I feel so much better
  • @johnsmith-ro2tw
The number one hint is : gut feeling. You will know, if you are honest to yourself, that something is wrong. And if something is wrong, it does not get better with time.

Left a job of 5 years this week. The most empowering thing I have done for myself. Couldn't have been any prouder/happier for myself.
  • @kvietimas
The manager in my workplace is so malignant that many people just walked out without giving any notice. I gave my resignation letter last week and can not wait for this to be over. Surely, your mental health is too important to tolerate harrasments and bullying, whether in an active or passive form.

Finding a job with good people is so important for mental health and growth. Staying in a toxic work environment is one of the worst things you can do to yourself professionally and personally.
  • @millertime6
Mine was definitely #1. My boss would visibly cringe whenever I spoke. She spent more time trying to undermine me than actually solve problems for the business.
  • @teachingntraining
Good analysis. Many employees fall prey to the sweet trap. Another misconception is "don't leave till you have another job in hand." I believe that is the worst reason to continue in a toxic work environment.
  • @bmmr
please add this to your list, 1. no active projects or measurable work coming from management 2. no growth in the team or in the company 3. massive spending on team dinners and parties as if there is no tomorrow 4. no communication by management on your current workload or future tasks 4. lots of team gossips about others - this is big list and more. most important is after layoffs people usually landup in far better job elsewhere 👍

I was harassed from day one in the newly assigned Client project. I was told no release will be given, instead disciplinary HR action will be taken for not following official timings as the client has escalated it. Hardly anyone was following it anyway but I was only one being cherry picked. Keep in mind 11-12 hrs of work doesn't matter to them + 3 hrs travelling, Saturday work. Can't take leave, have to use only comp offs as leave will affect their billing. When I said I will come by 9am then leave by 6pm everyday, the response was- you will get that kind of appraisal. I resigned today in a messy way & there is a very high probability that they will make my notice period hellish as possible. In India, these big MNCs are practising Modern Day Bonded Labour. I feel pity for those who can't muster the courage to end this slavery. IMO, Self respect should be paramount!

Also, I will suggest to add Red Flag no.6 - Lack of Mutual respect, Transparency and Trust in communication, which I believe one of the most important value at your workplace.
  • I lost my job recently, I actually see myself in everything you talked about in this video, my coworkers even talking shit behind my back, spreading rumors thats not even true, only becouse they hate me. I'm actually happy to leave that job, to take up my studies again, thats what everyone should focus on really!
  • @bloodcards3084
Left a toxic workplace yesterday. They pushed me right out the door into a better job. They've asked me to reconsider but that chapter is over. I'm glad I left as a professional while maintaining character and integrity. (uncommon values in that environment)
  • @askme24x7
Leave immediately if you are more talented than your boss. This will happen due to transfer etc. knowingly no boss will hire a smarter guy than himself.
  • @MrDeepakvasudev
Organization culture, internal politics and office infrastructure cannot be known at Interviews.
  • @ameeraahmed7395
No growth, no big fat salary..no respect ...my resignation letter is ready in my desk 🥰just working hard to find another job so i can save up and open up my own business
  • @Nagroddy
Spot on! o my detriment, I have ignored nearly every one of those red flags and regretted it later on. Two generations ago staying loyal to one employer was often a very well reward thing. Those days are mostly gone, especially if you notice any of the red flags in the vid! Great info. Thanks.
  • Working for Good Boss is more important than a great Company. I realised it while reporting to my boss and also when my Team started reporting to me.. don't worry...both times had a very healthy environment 😊
