My daughter was a child actress, she was in commercials. Cheetah girls. They called her the next Gary Coleman. One day, she came to me in tears, and said mommy please please don't make me do this anymore. I just want to be a normal child. This is killing me. I'm sooo proud of her, she's so super talented still, but the love of my child was way greater than the love of money, and fame. I have no regrets. Love is more important than all the money in the world.

Young people say, “You made my childhood.” Well, what about her childhood? She had no childhood. No child should work to support her family. What a burden! Children need to be children. Childhood should be a happy time, because adulthood is stressful. Childhood should not be stressful. I’m sad for her that she lost so much.
  • She may have been controlled and silenced back then. But she is definitely standing in her power now! GOOD FOR YOU RAVEN😘
  • She was "PROGRAMMED" to switch/click off and on. Listen to her words. She was tired of "programs" and wanted a free Life from it all.🤜🏿🤛🏿

Before she said dissociation I knew exactly what she was doing. It's like putting things away in a drawer. You literally will not remember a thing until you're reminded in a weird way, a smell, a sound... it's in the drawer, when you open it, there's more than one thing packed in there and it's terrifying. There are also multiple drawers. Your brain has a way of protecting itself therefore you from trauma, so it hides things. Unfortunately-- it doesn't make it go away.

So sad that her parents used her for their own gain! Just glad she came out and is living her truth!

She really was the sweetest little girl 🥹❤️‍🔥. Loved her the most on the Cosby Show

She is so right when she says that everyone has to live their truth to be completely happy. I’m happy to see Raven so happy, finally getting her own life and not just what she thinks people will accept as her life. Everyone needs love and understanding. She’s a great person and actress!

Yall made it seem like she was going to say something about Cosby. Click bait will get you every time.
  • I'm from the generation that watched "Family Affair' growing up. My mother was devastated when we heard that Anissa Jones, "Buffy," died of a drug overdose. From that day, we always worried about the fate of child stars. My mom also liked Raven's character "Olivia," and "Rudy" played by Keisha Knight Pulliam. I'm so happy to see that both these young women have done well and avoided the fate of Anissa Jones. So proud of Raven.

Absolutely loooove Raven. She was always one of those actresses who got to portray her own personality on set through her acting and not just off screen. She's always been fun, charismatic and great at making ppl laugh on and off set. When she came out, i was surprised and was like u go woman. She is such a positive role model for those in the lgbtq community that do have a hard time trying to come out. It also sets a positive message for any young stars that are afraid to come out cuz not everyone in the production industry is accepting of the lgbtq community and stars lose roles over it. When that happens it just shows that they werent worth working for cuz ppl should be able to love who they are and others should be more accepting because were no longer in the days of ages where being diff is seen as horrible or taboo. I remember when i was comfortable enough to come out as bi to my family. My parents accepted me, most of my family accepted me but there was one who wasnt. That family member sat me down trying to talk to me about what if i want a family someday and i cant have that with a woman. I said there's always adoption and then of course there was the whole heaven and hell discussion. I said i believe god loves me the way they made me and if i end up in Hell for loving who i love, then he wouldnt be judging me properly for my heart and soul. Raven will always keep shining bright and sending positive messages and vibes. She's a great voice for so many who feel they dont have one so cheers to Raven for always being the wonderful person she is

I’ve always loved Raven, she’s such a wholesome person and made my childhood what it was!
  • Raven, I am so proud of you. I have learned as I get older that other people only understand at their level of perception. You are a beautiful person inside and out and I cried to think that you might have been unhappy and I am really so proud of you and happy that you are now living a beautiful life. God bless and I'm sending you a great big virtual hug
  • Raven always had that sparkle, that genuine talent. I am happy she found her way to her art, love and is making a difference.
  • We look at actors and actress and think they have a perfect life and have no idea what they are going through right in front of our eyes 💔💔💔💔
  • Since it’s my first time watching this, I didn’t know what she had went through. It’s just so sad. Many young celebrity children have went through so much. But good for her that she took a break so she could take the time to take care of herself. Self love is so important. I did see her back come back on television many years ago but I didn’t know everything leading up to it. I’m just so happy that she came back to not only give herself a voice but for others too who struggle in silence. She’s truly a role model & inspiration to all. <3
  • We are not surprised that there is so much growth in Atlanta to escape some of the politics of Hollywood... Atlanta is very supportive and our shows reflect that.
  • So glad that Raven is using her talent to make a difference, while living a wonderful life with the woman she loves.
