“We can’t truly be leaders if we’re only livin’ for re-elections.” BAM! That’s it. 🔥🔥🔥
  • He has what it takes to be a real leader. Very inspiring. Very sincere. A real heart. Common sense. Wow.

No one knows the pain of losing a child no matter their age I lost my 26 year old son Jake March 13th 2021 When this tragedy happened I felt these parents pain and rekindled my own pain Thank you for standing up for these kids and their family's So these children didn't die in vain God bless you
  • It's not guns, it's us! Why are we so unhappy? Why do we hurt each-other? Only hurt people, hurt people.

You will NEVER remove EVIL INTENT from a human heart.

The way you remembered each and every one of those people who sadly lost their life in Uvalde was the most Sincere you are a Blessing to this world.
  • I appreciate you making these children and families so much more than a statistic. Due to all that happens, people look away too soon. You make these people and their lives more real, in a way that few people can. People need understanding to care, and to care to create change. And it’s clear that you truly care. Let’s hope that the care will spread and that this loss does result in something positive. It’s owed to these broken dreams and families.

The Government fails to act on the laws being broken now. Responsible gun owners are not the ones breaking them. Enforce laws already on the books and then we can have a legitimate discussion about how to keep the kids safe.
  • As a Canadian carpenter, I listened at work . I never cried so hard on site before as a father of three , my heart aches. Pls run for an !!!!! Actual!!!!! President that makes a difference. Do it for the world we need more of this real talk !!!!!!! Good bless all children of the world Thanks Mathew!!

Matthew McConaughey: Real person who just happens to be an actor for a living. Who wouldn't if they could? I grew up in a farm community in the panhandle of Texas (Magahat country these days) but left, saw the world and other parts of the country and expanded my horizons. I recommend this for all panhandlers because they mostly only listen to each other. It is obvious that Matthew has expanded his horizons a bit since growing up and leaving Uvalde. How else could he have given such a heart rending account of what it is like to be from there and feel their their pain and know the outrage that real humans with a heart feel over these mass shootings? I felt his pain and had to fight back some tears during his speech. Much like I did during his closing argument in "A TIme to Kill". THAT one really got me even though it was just a movie. It plainly "got" Matthew too. His feelings seem to be a part of his life, acting or not. Kudos Matthew. You are not a robot (or a brainless follower).

My heart hurts just hearing these words. I can’t imagine the heartaches the families of these innocent victims are experiencing right now.
  • We have a federal background check, we already have red flag laws, we already have waiting periods. Mental health needs to be a bigger, laws preventing illegal firearms need to be stricter. But the main thing is mental, people don’t know how to act, deal with life’s issues and problems. People think changing who they are, delving into the digital world will make them better or get rid of depression or anger. If that isn’t checked, bad people will hurt people if they have they will, the Oklahoma City bombing years ago didn’t involve guns, it was a van and items from a farm and tractor store. If someone wants to hurt someone they will.
  • His message is from authenticity - he is a voice of many. This is from heart and he aligns with good values. Not a time to judge. A time to listen and a time to acknowledge the change needed. Matthew is trying to create a path. Do good be good say good 🙏🏼
  • I have cried over and over throughout this speech! I feel empathy for those who lost a loved one as I have lost a loved one in my family. My heart breaks for them and I pray that they may have peace. Thank you so much for sharing their story. We do have more in common than we are being told. We have to come together and make the changes to make sure this stops happening. This is the best most inspiring speech I have heard in years!
