I have a degree in graphic design and 80% of graphic design is literally showing the ideas to people and asking if it looks like 'a Hindu symbol' or genitals<3
  • @ladykoiwolfe
That horrific wall of letters actually says: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. I want to cry seeing it so mangled.

Click reading diesel as “Die sel” and proceeding to believe that’s the name of a company is physically causing me pain

As a former graphic designer, I think it the "idiot factor" should be known. You say "This goes by so many eyeballs before it's approved, how come no one caught this?" Trust me, a lot of eyes probably did, the head designer probably did and probably brought it up to the boss / client, but the boss / client was very insistent, thinking that they were a genius and their idea was soooo cute or soooo cool and "don't argue with me, this is what I want" and the job, ultimately of the designer was to be the design-monkey that made their vision happen and just no amount of arguing could sway them. "No, I can't blow this tiny real estate picture up any more while making it look clear. I've made it as sharp as it's going to get" - (Tries desperately to explain pixels per inch and the nature of JPEG artefacts to someone who just doesn't get it and doesn't want to learn and why this other picture would work better, but noooo.) I guarantee you that's why there are Not-See symbol headphones and Santa's Milk. Someone who was paying the bills thought it was cute, the designer argued with them to no end until they just said "screw it, the customer's always right, even when they're wrong, I just want to get paid."

As an American I take no offense to your jokes and I fully encourage them

As a wheelchair user, the automatic door that leads to the flight of stairs fills me with fury. I've encountered that so many times.

9:05 "life liberty and the pursuit of happiness" please do not ask how I read it immediately correctly I have no idea
  • 9:05 if you read the letters up and down at an angle in a completely completely deranged way, you get “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”.

r/wtfaucet is a great subreddit for these terrible sinks
  • After learning graphic art and design, this subreddit is the funniest thing ever made.
  • @brayhill
Those hand dryers in the sink really grind my gears. Not only does it splash everywhere, but it ties up a sink for drying. The toilet on the stairs in likely in a basement. They do that (not to code) to hook into a drain pipe that's above the slab. My cottage had one when I moved in.

27:43 Lorem ipsum is a dummy text used to replace text in some areas just for the purpose of an example. It can be used in publishing and graphic design. It is used to demonstrate the graphics elements of a document, such as font, typography, and layout.
  • For the "herpes" mug, perhaps it isn't meant to be "heroes", but "herbes", a French word that could be translated into "plants", explaining the flowers
  • @chatboulon743
The child abuse sign reminded me of a course I had to take to identify child abuse, since I work around kids. I shit you not, when I passed the course, I was presented with a certificate with the words "CHILD ABUSER" in big, bold letters on it. Needless to say, it's never getting framed or displayed. 😨😅

13:25 fun fact: that is exactly what the "best by" label is there for it has literally zero relevance to safety, the food is like always fine for days or weeks past that date, but most people throw it out after that date, leading to increased food wastage and higher profits for the company

I love that part where Click notices he's wearing tattered rags and burps straight into the microphone. It helps to remind us that he is human after all and not actually an ungodly immortal creature with flawless charm and aesthetic (and aroma) designed to seduce us all to devil worship.
  • I think part of the issue with sink design is that by their very nature, sinks are a practical item, and designers forget that. They prioritize looks over the very core of what a sink is.
  • As a professional graphic designer, I can almost guarantee that the pregnancy test photo is the result of somebody higher up saying “can you make her look more pregnant? We want people to be sure she’s pregnant”, the designer taking it to ridiculous extremes expecting to be told to tone it down again, and the reviewer saying “YES!” XD happens far more often than you think. People with too much power who don’t know design having too much of a say in the actual design process.

12:02 MY GOSH that lack of transition was the most jarring thing ever, i did not expect him to go there immedately after talking about CP, and then he specified and i audibly breathed a sigh of relief

29:51 - For anyone wondering, the cities are Paramaribo (Suriname), Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Johannesburg (South Africa). But the South African one seems to either be broken, or simply showing incorrect time. It should have the same time as Amsterdam, since this seems to be during daylight savings, meaning both are GMT+2 (while Suriname is GMT-3, accounting for the five hour difference between the first two clocks).
